He wasn't awful. Further, if his body hadn't disintegrated at the end of the year, we might have made the playoffs.

At any rate, it was for the best that it did. Mangini rolled the dice, it failed, and now our team is improving in considerable ways.

Well he got rid of Chad once and for all...that has to count for something.

'course once we have the kind of D and O that Chad would have excelled with, then it'll be one more thing to pile onto that failed has-been experiment.

Just the pic of him in a Jets uniform with that headline is what made me laugh. Also, on SI's NFL page, there is a pic of Neil O'Donnell linking to a story about the all-time worst free agent signings.

When it comes to negative press, the Jets are one of the best :(

Are you kidding? He sucked. His mental errors were far worse than any physical limitations caused by any injuries.

    LOL.

I didn't review it, but when I saw the headline as a link on CNN.com, I immediatly said to myself, O'Donnell is on that list.

He injured his arm week 12. The difference before and after was considerable.

Not to beat a dead horse, but if the arm was that bad, he should have pulled himself or at least had a meeting with the coaches to adjust the game plan accordingly.

Again, he did us a favor by not sitting, he and Mangini combined sank a ship that wasn't going anywhere fast. We took one step back to take three steps forward.

Exactly. If the Jets make the playoffs things are a lot worse this year.

Yes, and deservedly on the list.

At least the Favre signing was not as disastrous as that one.

It's amazing, This thread has 13 posts in it at the point I am posting and everyone of them is accurate. That's got to be a TGG record.

That is the coaches job to do and they knew he had arm problems. REAL football players will and want to play no matter what is injured.
Do you remeber a few years back when Bryan Cox broke his leg during a game and he was trying to get back in the game they even had to hide has helemet. We all know Brett is a REAL player.

Oh, please... but this is so much better than having ol' noodle arm around for another season. Let him go somewhere else and lead his teams to the playoffs. We don't need that sort of consistency around here. Hell, with Clemens we got a serious shot at shattering Burt's INT record. Woot!!

noodle arm was one and done in the playoffs.

i'd rather go in another direction. as an earlier poster said, sometimes you have to take one step back in order to go two steps ahead.

Yeah really. It's part of our cross to bear here that there are still some fans who wish Chadley was still on the team.

I saw that and I cringed! Neil was terrible. He reminded me of Tarzan in Greystoke "..razor.....raaaazor.....raaazooooor" everytime he touched the ball.
