In week 16 the Colts had a chance to euthanize the sleeping green giant that was the Jets. Instead they woke it up, and they are beating any and every team that's blocking the way since then, and the pressure is on the Colts to beat the Jets or else the media is gonna have a field day with them, and they would say they should have gone for the perfect season. Even if they beat the Jets and win the SB, they'll say they should have been 19-0. GO JETS!:manning::jets:
There is absolutely no way the Jets should be feeling any pressure what so ever. Indy is under so much pressure its not even funny. They are the favorite and they are supposed to be 17-0 right not and moving forward going for perfection... Well the football gods are about to smite the Colts for turning their backs on perfection and we are coming to town to shut them down. If their is any truth to this football gods thing that people have been spewing all week, look for Manning to have a horrendous game...
There is no pressure ,Peyton is getting his arse busted win or lose ,he knows that hes standing back there waiting ,dont matter if we win or lose anymore ,if we win we wake up sunday thinking we were dreaming ,we lose it aint no bad dream ....... I like Peyton but his arse is getting busted tomorrow, win or lose ....
Ur wrong my man ,the colts and chargers would be like a tennis match ball up an down .. This aint no tennis game ,and the Colts know that and they is thinking about it ,u aint going to beat us bad ,u gotta beat us All over ,this is animals on the field ,with jets blood and fire in their heart ,that takes beating ..aint some lay down operation this is the JETS our JETS :jets::jets::jets::jets: We need to remove that smiley thing ,u need a mean guy thats what we is ... we is ugly foooks gl to all tomorrow Jets and Colts be a hard game .. more luck to us and plenty health to them
rich eison said it best.he refered to the colts as dr.frankenstein, gave life to a monster and now it's terrorizing the country.thats this team rite here a fucking monster.
rich eison said it best.he refered to the colts as dr.frankenstein, gave life to a monster and now it's terrorizing the country.. roflmao never heard it ..
I disagree. I think if the Jets lose the fans and the media will treat it as if they lost a Super Bowl that they were favored by 40 in. Rex is doing an outstanding job of channeling the pressure into excitement though.
They definitely have pressure, thanks to Rex, they are going into every game expecting to win it. Maybe a Mangini run team would have no pressure, but Rex and the players expect to win, which causes pressure. I think it is a good thing.
I have heard it mentioned in a few places that the Colts will NEVER hear the end of this if the team they "let in" to the playoffs will be the one that kicks them out. The media and the fans will turn that place upside down. By all accounts we shouldn't be here, and we should not win. (So we're told). Chargers didn't handle that pressure so well did they? I'm hoping Indy doesn't handle it too well either.
Diehard Mets. But it's a Boston sports thing, and fuck that city. Also, I like original names better. Or just, "the Jets defense."
To be honest with you I don't feel any pressure. This feels the exact same as going into Super Bowl 41. We all knew we were going to win. There was absolutely no tension at all. All of those Patriots games, even this year, I felt tense before the game.
Can't speak for the players, but I can't imagine how all of the pressure is on Indy. Yeah, they're favored to win, but pressure was when we had 0 Super Bowls playing NE wondering if this was the year we'd get over the hump. If we didn't that year, it would have been psychologically devastating for the team. Right now, the vets on the team are playing for a shot at historical legacy. We've been consistently very good the past few years and have managed to get one. Getting a second Super Bowl trophy would put this era of the franchise close to status of the Raiders of the late 70s/early 80s in my eyes. I'm not entirely confident we're going to win though. If this were a 7 game series, I would be, but it's one game against a very good team that seems to be on a roll. Living up here in Chicago gave me a strange perspective on our SB run a few years back. I was 95% confident that we would win that game. The Bears D was fairly similar in ability to the Jets this year, but that matchup was easier to me because: -the Bears coaching staff was entirely incompetent. Can't say that about the Jets at all. -the Bears secondary was comparatively weak. -Grossman was due for some boneheaded plays. Sanchez seems to play within his abilities and experience level. If we go up a couple of scores, then I expect Sanchez to make some stupid plays in obvious passing situations, but it will only be because he must do something that isn't quite in his skill set (yet). -Our defense had three games to really gel in the playoffs before the game vs. the Bears. I remember sitting there at halftime thinking, "We gave up the opening return for a TD, Manning threw a pick, Addai lost a fumble, we missed a PAT, we missed a field goal, and we're still up? This game is over."
