Query: Should the jets think about thinking about trading L. Coles to Miami next year for a 2nd/3rd round pick? Not saying we SHOULD do it, but something to think about for several reasons: 1. Jets need a deep threat, whether Clowney or whoever 2. Coles trade would be minimal cap hit since he has a yearly guarenteed contract which Miami would assume 3. Coles is not your silent clubhouse leader for jets 4. Coles thinks Pennington is his hero and all that 5. Parcells would likely bite as he drafted Coles for jets in 2000. 6. Miami could use a possession receiver like Coles. Might be worth THINKING about--DON'T PANIC, PEOPLE, JUST A THOUGHT I HAD FOR NEXT SEASON.
It's worth considering after the season. Division rivals don't often make trades, but it has been done before. See the Drew Bledsoe and Darrell Jackson trades for two examples.
as long as there is a WR ready to go in his place with the same production I have no problem with it.
We may as well give them Coles too--we didn't do that well with CP/LC. And, we continue to wait for 4 pm to arrive....,
Doubt you could get a 2nd or 3rd for him. Aging concussion prone receivers don't really have much value
I wanted him gone last year. Whiney ass punk. He always thought he was much better than he actually was. He bitched about losing CP but no one ever really mentions the fact that HE broke up with CP and went to find a new 'boo' in Washington. With that being said I dont see much of a trade value. Aging receiver with history of concussions and being a bitch. 3 rounder at best.
I never thought I would want the Jets to trade Coles but he doesn't seem to be quite the same player this season with Favre that he was with Chad. A trade to Miami seems like it might work out well for both teams if they were willing to do it. I'd vote yes.
He complains a lot but always plays hard. He usually has a huge game after he bitches to the media. As long as he is producing, no harm in keeping him around
