from kffl this is absolutly nuts for the first pick

Jets | Team appears to be targeting D. Ferguson or M. Williams
    Fri, 21 Apr 2006 23:06:48 -0700

Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the New York Jets appear to be targeting North Carolina State DE Mario Williams or Virginia OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson in the first round of next week's NFL Draft. "We need help right now," said one Jets official, who requested anonymity to avoid revealing the team's thinking. Moving up to acquire USC RB Reggie Bush is intriguing, but NFL insiders say it would cost the Jets their two first-round picks (fourth and 29th), a third-rounder and a second-rounder next season to get the first pick overall from the Houston Texans. The Jets, who need quantity as well as quality, appear more likely to trade down than trade up but are expected to stay put at No. 4.

Holy crap. No way we should put that much into one guy. I still don't believe all of the Bush hype, but even if I did, that would just be too much to give up for one position.

Oh please, keep Mario Williams off the team.

If I hear "Super Mario" one more time I may puke.

I'm not familiar with Scott, but otherwise, I like that draft A LOT.

I think # 35 is far too high for Croyle. Maybe in the third round. If you think Chad is fragile, just watch Croyle.

Whats with the love affair for Croyle? I mean hes an OK player but IMO he'll be nothing more than a backup in the league. If we arent taking one of the top 3 guys we may as well wait and pick up Whitehurst or Jacobs, someone with some star potential. Croyle will never be a great QB, at best he'll be a decent player. Definitely not worth an early 2nd.

Completely agree, Croyle at 35 would be a ridiculous reach.

From what I have seen of Croyle, he is quite possibly the most underrated player in this draft. I am predicting great things for this kid. I just hope they happen with us.

Yea i really dont think we should draft a QB until the later rounds.....Every year there's 2 or 3 QB's who are the next big thing so lets get some other weapons on O first, see how Penny/Ramsey fair and if it goes to shit we take one next draft. I mean whats the worst that could happen. Either one of our QB's rebounds and does well or we get a high draft pick next year because we'r in a rebuilding stage anyway.

Well if your ok with taking him at 35 then I couldnt disagree more. There are at least 3 other QBs Id take over him, I wouldnt take any at 35 but Id take Clemens, Whitehurst, and Jacobs over him. Im not a big Jacobs or Clemens fan, but I think they both have a better chance of being special then Croyle. With Croyle you are essentially getting a solid player once he bulks up. With the others you have a chance of having a really good player. If Im picking a QB outside of round one its Whitehurst in the 3rd

I really do like Croyle. To say Whitehurst is better than him is an absolute joke. Brodie has a great arm, good accuracy, great work ethic, and is very knowledgeable. #35 is not too high. Thats a perfect time to pick Croyle.

If you actually read what I wrote I didnt say Whitehurst was better than him. I said he has a lot more potential than Croyle does. Most people seem to have these dreams that Croyle is the second coming of Namath because hes an Alabama QB and if he comes to the Jets then hes gonna be great. Croyle is a good player but his potential is limited in my mind. How many games have you actually seen Croyle play? unfortunately, outside of the Florida game last year, Croyle was terrible against the good teams he played, maybe thats cause Prothro wasnt playing, but he still was not very good in the important games in the SEC. The Bama offense was a joke the second half of the season, once Prothro got hurt Croyle did nothing, they only won games because of their defense. In no way is he worth the 35th pick.

Horrible deal if it happens. Bush is a great player but having 4 potential starters (including 1 superstar that is only a few notches below Bush) is more important then Bush. At this point our OL is still an injury concern with their high age and we need quality lineman in the first 3 rounds or we'll be stuck with Bush running behind a college quality line, and he'll have nowhere to go.

Bush is not even the best back in the draft look what happened against Texes pawned . White had the work load and 3 tds and 124 yds rushing he carried that team !
