OK, post your thoughts -- good or bad -- on Hi-Def or digital broadcast of all Jets games this year. Obviousley, today's game wasn't in HDTV, something discussed elsewhere. But the digital quality was lacking, too....my TV had weird color pixelization squares a few times and the audio cut out and/or got jumbled. I have Cablevision and I think I'm gonna have them come out and test the line.
Had NOTHING to do with Cablevision, DirecTV or anyone else. CBS did not broadcast the game in HDTV. Enough said.
Alot of the Jets early games may not be in HDTV. CBS only has 3-4 HDTV crews and they mostly do the big national games of interest. Still, wherever you are and however you get digital or Hi-Def Jets (or football) broadcasts, post your experiences, good and/or bad, here. If there are broadcast problems we can determine if it's on our end or the cable or satellite company's.
My directv broadcast was fine. I watched it on the HDTV channel with the side bars, and it was pretty good.. Not HDTV, but not awful.
I don't see the big deal about the HDTV stuff. If I can see the players, read the words they put on the screen, I'm fine.
I should have mentioned that I watched the HDTV feed even though the game itself was broadcast in digital SDTV.
I feel kinda stupid saying this but I got the Directv Sunday Ticket and couldn't find the game anywhere. Am I missing something? I had to go to a restaurant and watch it cuz it was already in the 2nd Quarter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
When you see the difference you will know why everyone is bitchin The CBS broadcast of this game on my 60" tv looked awful i had to watch it of my 36" tube tv in the bedroom It was that bad
It was on 712 but I didn't get anything below 729 (Cincy @ KC) I think. Everytime I tried 712 it said "channel not available." I hope it doesn't do it again, cuz I got DIRECTV specifically to watch the Jets.
Its not possible for networks to broadcast every game in HD if they are doing a lot of games at once. CBS had a bunch of high def games going on today too.
If you live in the NY metro area you get blacked out on the nfl ticket package you must tune to the local CBS station (channel 2 380 or 80 in HD) it not going to be in the 700's
Not sure how knowledgeable about your set and SD and HDTV modifications, but you might want to check out AVS Forum to get tips on maximizing SD viewing. I watched the game in SD (though over the HDTV feed) and stretched the picture to eliminate the side bars. The picture clarity was as good as my Sony 27" CRT. Only problems were the very infrequent audio cut-out and pixelization. That and the fact that the Houston-Philly game on at the same time looked 10X better !!!
Fox didn't have as many games going on at once. CBS had a lot more games going on. It depends upon how many hidef machines CBS has. I work for ESPN and deal with HD game records and I know we have a limited amount on machines that we can use. Thats why we don't broadcast every college football game in hidef.
The only way anything is gonna get done is if you write CBS and bitch.....why bitch here when nobody here can help?
Funny story.... My Wifey had me dyin today. We just got a 32" HD for the Dining area so she was upstairs watching it doing stuff in the kitchen, I was watchin it on the 65" in the HT Room. Around half way through the 1st I go upstairs and I said, "you believe No HD on opening day." She goes "I know WTF. All they keep showing is those damn HD commercials on How Clear it is and HD this and That and you Have to get one, and the Shit is even on in HD.......M'Fers." Funny part is She never curses!!! I was just LMAO.....
