Yup...it needed to be started. We have a clueless offensive coordiantor that calls all the wrong plays at all the wrong times. We have a DC that rushes 3 on EVERY 3rd down play. And we have a Head Coach with a track record of only shining Belichick's shoes. FIRE THEM ALL!!!
I finally have to say I completely agree. Even if we win this game somehow. The whole game has been an abomination.
I've unfortunately have joined this side of the argument... I can call a better game. I can, I don't play madden, I just know how to control my ego and use the weaknesses of a team to my advantage. I can do a better job, but I need coordinators. Who would like to be my braintrust? We will keep Bryan Cox on the CS.
I'm usually in the bunker being rational about the current situation, but this is brutal. I've had enough with the cutesy bullshit, and playcalling. Just do the simple things to win games. If a team sucks at run D, run the ball. Don't do 8 man motion shifts, and spread the field, and the no huddle offense. Line the fuck up and run it down their throats. Then get back in the huddle and do it again. If a team has shitty coverage guess what, pass the ball more than you run it. I don't know if it is stupidity or arrogance, but its really not that difficult to identify a teams weakness and make a basic gameplan to exploit those weaknesses.
I agree. I'm just about finished with this CS. Every freakin week its the same thing. We attack their strengths and stand around with a dumbassed look wondering why its not working. If this franchise ever hires another HC without prior HC experience? I'm sorry to say it, but I'll have to cut this team loose.
Well - like suddenly this game two PA deep passes are called when your unable to run the ball, but in the previous game when you ran all over them not even one was called. I mean, I can call a better game myself sitting in my chair, at least fromt he standpoint of the type of play that should be ran in the given situation. It's just... sad.
The signs were ALL there last season. Stay away from the koolaide and it was easy to see. I stopped by to watch the board melt down if this team lost to Sperm's Injuns, but looks like the NYJ dodged an arrow. Mangina=

Dude- what don't you get? The CS is supposed to asses the opponents and prepare a strategy. When you play the team with the worst run defense in the league and throw more than you run, then its on the coaching staff. 3rd and short, and the offense is in a shotgun formation?! you have got to be more educated than that to make such a silly statement...

I need some of that too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Joking aside, I have said time and again, THE JETS SHOULD START RUNNING, NOT PASSING DURING THE GAME (During the regular time, anyway.) When they ran in the first down, they usually had a spectacular results (2nd and 3/2nd and 2 those kind.) That's how you set up a play action pass - at 2nd and short, just about anything becomes an option. Show them some looks with runs, then go for the kill at 3rd or 4th crack at it. Did the Jets EVER do that last week OR this week? BEEEEEP. Wanna go double jeopardy with that? Rather, wanna see how the Jets killed a promising drive? They get a first down - then pass in the first down. incomplete. 2nd and 10. Try that shit again for 2 yard gain. 3rd and 8. Another incomplete pass, and you are out. Now, in the overtime, Jets are not throwing enough - Raiders are expecting the Jets to rush, since the passing game has been junk all day. Why not throw a deep one here? That automatically wins the game, no? (You only need to get to 30 yard line to have a theoretical shot. The closer, the better) You could say "hindsight is 20/20" but... does that justify that Jets did not try a SINGLE downfield pass throughout the ENTIRE overtime? NO. Like I said time and again this season, this coaching staff is just completely clueless. Calling wrong plays at the wrong time with wrong personnel. They MUST go. NOW. (Or if Favre does come back - I doubt it but - maybe at the start of next year.
They gotta chill on that spread offense especially against teams who cant defend the run. Shotty or Mangini whoever has to use there dome and be more balanced and those play action bombs will happen. STOP SMOKIN DA CHEECH MANGEENI!
