there are a lot of guys that need to prove themselves. Guys who come to mind right away are colt brennan and brian brohm. Both were top flight qb prospects in the beginning of the year but brohm had a relatively bad senior year and brennan completely collapsed against georgia and in the senior bowl.

Louisville's defense was the problem. Brian Brohm threw for over 4000 yards and had 30 TDs to 8 INTs as a senior. That isn't a bad year at all.

Matt Ryan is just considered to be the better pro prospect RIGHT NOW.

12:35- New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini addressed the media this morning, saying that he hasn't talked to WR Laveranues Coles since his comments about the Jets lying to him, but he plans to sit down with the player and talk about the state of the franchise very soon.

Mangini talked a bit about the risk involved in big free agent signings, saying that it's similar to selecting a high draft pick — chemistry is important.

According to Mangini, LB Jonathan Vilma is rehabbing like he does everything — all out. He wasn't sure if Vilma would definitely be a starter in 2008 due to scheme issues and the injury. He said a lot will be determined from the point of OTAs and on.

Mangini noted that there aren't necessarily a smaller pool of specific linebacker-to-end prospects in the draft because there are different styles of 3-4. Certain schemes like Baltimore and Dallas have down linemen to the point where the 3-4 is almost a misnomer.

Jeffrey Otah, RT could be a good pick for us. That is all.

We'll see how he runs. No one ever drooled over his size. Clearly that is too small so this might end up like the Fred Gibson/Reggie Brown class a few years ago with DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins with Jackson/Gibson leading the team in college and Hawkins/Brown being the better pro.

I could see that. I'm honestly most taken aback that the man apparently shrunk 2 inches from his college height. If he could be able to put on 15-20 lbs (I know, that's a lot with his small frame), I could see him developing into a Steve Smith-type. If he doesn't amazine in workouts though or show up to his pro day with improved muscle mass, I think he drops and I think he could drop hard.

I could see that, just because I'm a big fan of Hawkins (I think I had him 7 or something in my WR rankings), but Jackson's still got some quality game to him. He'll still run in the 4.3s, and he's as explosive as all hell. 5-10 isn't bad, he just needs to pack it on a little there when he gets to the NFL.

Brown was expected to be the better pro though. He was picked in the 2nd round, while Gibson slid all the way to round 4.

Steve Smith's size isn't a factor in his game. He's arguably the best wideout in the game.

I'm a big fan of both DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins.

Gibson was seen as the better WR throughout much of their careers though, and as one of the premier wideouts in the country for a while. It wasn't until draft time finally rolled around that Brown took off while Gibson plummetted.
