The New York Titans

While it was kind of cool, it was hard cheering for blue and gold.

 

I'd rather ''Remember the Titans" then watch them play every week.

 

Because it won't conflict at all with the franchise in Tenn right now.

 

And the uniforms just aren't Jets.
It's nice once a year for change of pace.

 

I never understood why the Jets allowed (assuming they had to) the Oiler franchise to take the Titans name when they moved to Tennessee. I always thought it would be a good name to go back to. It projects a lot more strength than the Jets. (No, I am not saying a name change would have any impact on the games.)

 

People complain about sharing a stadium with the Giants and being second class citizens in this area to the Giants and now you want to reuse a name that was clearly chosen in response to the Giants. How about the Jets keep their own identity and colors.

and that identity would be?????

That identity is the Jets name, not some Giant knock off name. That identity is green and white uniforms that are among the classiest in the NFL, not some blue and gold uniforms that make them look like a Division III college team. My point is that people want the Jets to have their own stadium and get out from underneath the Giants shadow, but now want to call the team a name that was a Giant knock off name and wear ugly blue uniforms from 50 years ago. It makes no sense to me. You can knock the team's performance but there is still a legacy to the name and the uniform.

 

Hess Christmas Trucks are green and white and Joe Namath wore green and white. I still buy Hess Christmas Trucks and I still think Joe Namath is cool, so navy blue and gold have to go.

It's as simple as that.

I like those jerseys, they give the team more of an identity then the corny uniforms we have now.

 

I can't believe I'm saying this because everything I own is green, but the blue and gold is growing on me.

Not pushing for a change yet, but I'd like to see the Jets pull these unis out twice a year.

Maybe it's the 40 spot and all that Florida sunshine that made them look so good, but I liked them after the Eagles loss as well.

Gotta stay green however. I can't change all my stuff now.

 

You're reading way too much symbolism from the uniforms.

I think they look fine, but really...whatever colors they decide to wear won't be that big of a deal for me. Identity is what you do, not what you wear.

 

Green N White forever.....sorry but I don't like the throwbacks to much.

 

So go make Woody richer & buy one of the jerseys if you have not done so already
