I'm not sure if anybody has put this up in the past or not, but I was just checking out a new video on the NEW Meadowlands and this stadium looks hella good. Video http://www.nynjfootball.com/jets/video/ Pictures http://www.nynjfootball.com/jets/ The parking lot designs, direct train transportation to the stadium, in-field video & acoustics, and fan/team interaction seem great. After watching this video tho, a few minutes went by and I got to thinking and wondered how much more those Season tickets are gonna go for in the future.
So, does this mead the Westside Stadium is dead? just kidding... I am, however looking forward to the "unique wayfinding signage"...let the good times roll!
I love the train idea. My dad takes me to the games(i'm only 14), and we have season tickets, and we usaully leave early, because of traffic. Now we may stay the whole time, because now we have a train!
Where's the meadow? Looks like a bunch of asphalt poured over Wetlands, if you ask me. I think I see Jimmy Hoffa waving from the aerial view.
Cannot wait!! Just hope they dont shift our seats too much like they did from Shea to the Meadowlands...I went from the 35yd line at Shea to the 10yd line at the Meadowlands
i am truly excited about the new stadium, it will be the best in any sport, for those of you who say 'we still wont have our own stadium' i say bullshit, thats saying the giants wont have there own stadium either, this stadium is a 50/50 deal, and it wont be called giants stadium, if it makes anybody feel better think about this, the lakers [i know different sport] share an arena, they have won 3 nba titles since sharing a place, so sharing a place has NOTHING to do w/winning championships, i know there will be jet fans who hate sharing a stadium again, and i feel ya, but as long as its a phenominal place not called giants stadium im happy
It's a nice design....but for the cost..they could have added a dome. I'm sure this has been brought up before...but the Cowboys' new stadium costs juyst as much..and they have a retractable roof. Oh the cost of doing business with the Teamsters.
the lakers not only share with the lakers, they also share with the kings.. all 3 teams sports overlap pretty much the whole season. im glad the jets are stayin in NJ.. the psl's are coming whether we like it not, and i think will be cheaper since its in NJ
The thing about the Lakers at Staples is that they get preference on everything. Better lockeroom / facilities, first pick in dates (which is why the Clippers play at the worst times). The Kings and Clippers are 3rd class citizens when it comes to the Staples center. Not saying there is a correlation, but the Lakers are not equal partners with the other tenants. While, ultimately, I do think it makes sense to share a stadium considering there are at best 24 home dates for the two teams, I just hope that they are treated equally.
the lakers share with the lakers and the lakers....and now theres talk of the lakers possibly sharing the arena with the local lacrosse team, the lakers.
I hope the new tailgate zone doesnt mean you cant really tailgate. The zone sounds like another way for them get to more money out of your pocket.
From a New Yorker w/o a car, thank god for the train. Taking those Port Authority busses are brutal, especially on the way back.
