Forgive me if this thread is unnecessary, but I was hoping to have a season-long place where I could easily find discussion, news, and hopefully some good old fashioned ball-washing concerning Big Cat if he pans out the way we're led to believe he could. While I'm always excited to see the rookies, it's been a long time since I've been THIS level of hyped about a Jets draftee. I find myself logging onto TGG specifically to see quotes about him, from him, updates on his injury, etc. Articles like this one the Post just published are like putting a mountain of rocks in front of a crackhead for me: http://nypost.com/2015/09/10/beast-leonard-williams-about-to-prove-he-was-drafts-best-player/
Hopefully this will be a busy thread this season. Can't wait to see him in real action. Almost happy Sheldon sitting home masterbati.....I mean working hard.
If I had a girlfriend, and he wanted to, I probably wouldn't even cry at this point. Well, maybe happy tears.
The resemblance to the type of player Shaun Ellis was is definitely there (outside of the same number) with some added quickness. I think he'll exceed Shaun Ellis as he should but hopefully we can get that same run stopping/pass rusher combination we got out of the first Big Cat.
He certainly tops the list of things I'm excited about heading into the new season. I like that he's coming in here to start his NFL career as Bowles starts his head coaching career. Could be a great pairing. Just think where we'd be had we drafted Kevin White, as some wanted, and many sources suggested would be our pick. At the time I was pulling for Amari Cooper, but am happy now that it didn't go that way and the Raiders took him.
I would've been happy with either Cooper or Williams - they were my top 2 favorite prospects. The way things have been going, I am glad Williams was the selection and the Redskins passed on him. THANK GOD we did not draft Kevin White.
Its weird that i am not hyped up for this kid. i feel he is such a lock to be a good player that there is no suspense or anticipation. The games will start and he will be good.
Tough matchup for him today, but I still saw some plays where his talent stood out. Conditioning looked to maybe be an issue, because he looked winded to me. He also seemed to be off the field a lot in the 4th. Impressions?
The Browns probably have the best OLine in the league (other than the Cowboys). I fully expect Williams to get his first sack against Luck in front of the entire country.
He had a couple of nice TFL and generally did a good job helping to stuff the run. Very encouraged by his performance today.
He was great at times, he had 2 or 3 sacks lined up...But Manziel was so nifty out there. He played better as the game went along
Still early but right now this pick looks a lot better than Jameis at #1. As I said still early so until further examination good pick. Edit: Not 10 seconds after I typed this Jameis threw his first TD.
