Whether you want to admit it or not.....Jets secondary was better with Kerry Rhodes back there. Rhodes was also good at blitzing....This guy from Cleveland...Brodney Pool is not getting the job done. IMO...Rhodes was much better than this guy, especially in pass coverage. Also, Eric Smith is a joke in pass coverage.
In the grand scheme of things, taking into account how we shed his salary and his attitude, it was good to get rid of him. But there is absolutely no denying this defense misses his play on the field and his coverage ability. Eric Smith sucks in coverage. Pool is just kind of out there.. never really notice him do much.
There is some truth to this We got so obsessed with bashing him for his shitty tackling skills and prima donna attitude that we sometimes didn't appreciate what he did well (coverage, blitzing) Safety should be high on the draft needs list (not first round necessarily but first three rounds for sure)
Only dumb motherfuckers who haven't seen what Rhodes has done this year would start this thread. On a weekly basis he embarrasses himself in coverage and in tackling. Fuck Rhodes, he sucks. Everyone would be making hate threads everyday if Rhodes were. Fuck this thread and those who support Rhodes.
Pool has been invisible for the most part. Be careful to say he sucks though, if he comes alive later in the season you'll be held accountable for your opinion...
Yeah I admit that we made a mistake in getting rid of him. Its not all for nothing though, I couldn't stand how much of a pussy he was. I think we replace Pool in the draft this year IMO.
hahahahahahaha Steps to follow: 1. Go buy yourself a Kerry Rhodes' Fathead. 2. Soak your clothes in kerosene. 3. Light your new Fathead on fire. 3. Hug it. 4. Burn.
I hated Rhodes as much as any guy, but Pool hasn't been an upgrade either. There is still time this year to prove himself, but I think we need to make a change after this year if he stays invisible.
As much as i hated Sherry, our safeties are getting torched routinely. Yeah Sherry couldnt tackle, but Pool cant even fucking keep up with Tight Ends. Our safety unit as a whole is awful and likely would be better with Rhodes regardless of how many missed tackles he had. Who knows maybe well actually get something useful out of the 7th round pick next year we got for Sherry
I'm not saying getting rid of Rhodes was good or bad, but the Jets brass had to know that Smith is not a starting NFL safety. He can hit, but that's about it. He's Jon McGraw redux. IMO Pool has been invisible all season. The Jets are not going anywhere unless either the pass rush gets better or the safety make an impact.
Jets were getting burned by TEs with Rhodes last year, nothing has changed there. Move along, he is gone, and was not any better than Pool.
