you can bet your bottom dollar that the jets will not draft a q.b. in round #1.
with all the smoke signals tha tanny is throwing around the league.many of the teams around the league are finding it frustrating trying to figure him out.as he had said previously, that no one player is more important then the team.we intend to build through the draft and hope to be in contention for many years.our ultimate goal is to win the super bowl.

What does that have to do with not drafting a QB...

If you are intelligent, you don't rule anything out yet. I doubt we draft a RB in Round, but I am not going to pretend I know what I am talking about and say they won't...

Well I don't know how sure we can be about it but I sure as hell hope we don't draft a QB as the 4th pick.

I am not sold on drafting a QB either. Whomever they draft needs to be a lock for starting, regardless of the position. A QB is too much of a risk for as many holes as this team has.

the Jets should trade spots with Houston, and take Reggie Bush.

That being said, they'll probably wind up with Jay Cutler.

I would be against moving with Houston vs New Orleans because Houston would ask for alot more.

There is nothing wrong with us taking Jay Cutler. He will be a good QB in the NFL. His best attribute is his toughness...that was one of the traits Mangini said he wanted in his players...

Penny...I know I know I know .....GUESS WHAT??? You want to trade up and draft a QB! THAT IS A BIG FREAKING SURPRISE!! That is all you talk about in every thread on this board. You are like rainman.....Definetly Cutler....Definetly Lienart. SHUT THE F(*K UP ALREADY! We get it. :shit: They are NOT drafting a QB in the first round no matter how many times you post it on this board. Tell me who you like in the NCAA championship, and I will MAKE SURE to bet the opposite you mush. Now, go get your shine box and make yourself useful.

Lemme axe you somthethin tough guy... How the hell do you know we are not drafting a quarterback? You're basing your predictions off of NOTHING. You have no clue, nor does anyone else what we are going to do in the draft.

I guess I am not immature enough to try and argue like a child...

I have always said I am in favor of drafting a QB whether it is staying at 4 and taking Cutler or moving up to grab Leinart. I don't see the harm in the post you quoted...I merely said I am not dumb enough to say "we are drafting this position 100%" or "We aren't drafting this position 100%"

Your post was uncalled for, but I will not reply in that kind of fashion...

Lets face it , if the Jets feel there is a franchise QB AT 4 you can say you take him. But i feel they are hoping they can turn Ramsey into a good QB. Mangini is a defensive minded coach and with him switching to a base 3/4 if Williams is gone he will take Hawk. You need to get 3 starters with these 1st 3 picks. They have too many needs and you must start to build a base. They can take a flyer on a QB later in the draft {CROYLE} or if Ramsey does not work out you get Schaub next year when he is a free agent or draft a QB next year. There are 4 to 5 good QBs coming out next year. These is a rebuilding stage so set the foundation. THEY WILL GET THIS DONE.

If the Jets don't draft a quarterback in round one, I will shed no tears. I honestly believe that Brodie Croyle is not much more of a risk than Cutler or Young, and if they take a guy like Croyle or even an Omar Jacobs later on, I'll be pretty satisfied.

You agree with me. Croyle only problem is his durability. He has all the tools and a better arm then Leinart. It should be real interesting come draft day. If they dont get a starting caliber offensive tackle in free agency then you can get one late 1st or second and third rds.

I think they have too many qb's on the team as it stands right now. I can't see them drafting another qb this year with 3 potential starters (2 viable ones in pennington and ramsey) on the roster. Way too many other needs... I would mark CB, DE, OT, OC, LB and RB ahead of QB personally.

    Am I nuts?

Your not nuts. But just remeber if they draft a QB with the 1st pick they will release Chad if Ramsey pans out. You must pay a Qb picked at number 4 with about 25 million in guaranteed money. He cant be your number 3 QB going into the season. So if they go in that direction chances are Chad will be released.

Chad will not be released this year, not after just restructuring. If he is released next year, the cap hit would be rather significant. He either starts or rides the bench for the next few years.

As for the draft. Personally, I think all the talk of the Jets workout of the 4 QBs and Williams is all smoke and mirrors. They are secretive about EVERYTHING else that goes on, except this, that tells me something. IMO, they are targeting Brick or Williams (whoever is available). If Mangini really is like Belicheck, he is going to rebuild by starting with the O and D lines. Either that or they are positioning themselves to trade down. But that is just my opinion anyway.

I went a little over the top with that....and looking back, it was certainly not a true JetTerp quality post, and I am sorry for that. Your Lienart love in every thread though has just been getting to me a bit. We all have our opinions, which is what makes this forum so great. I just don't see you as open minded as some others on the board.
