eric mangini and jon runyan had dinner last night at it looks like he is going to sign a deal with the Jets since their are no other teams that have make offers and dont have the money to sign him to a long term deal. He is a great run blocker and a good pass blocker i have watched this him play he is great. I think the jets then will probley sign a back up RT along with Cavka. Or they will maybe sign mangold to compete with katnik but Katnik will win the job so mangold would be are back up. I would be a great signing and it is very close to happing. For people who dont know who he is he did play for the eagles now he is a FA. He has 9 years of experince in the NFL

    source? but great news regardless

  3. It's a great move in terms of adding a veteran to the OL and he will be a great run blocker. Pass protection is very iffy though. Hopefully we'll have a Patriots-esque pass blocking scheme in place to minimize holes in protection.

that is good news, i was a little scared knowing we would have just about an all rookie line. if they are going to draft leinart they better start finding a good RT.

Solidifying RT also is big if we are going to make a move for Lienart since he is left handed.

What the starter of the thread is ASSUMING is that cause Runyon has some BBQ with EM he is now a NYJ. That is like saying gee whiz we were this close to winning the NYS or NJ or CT lottoes.

    Oh DAMN...lol

How did I not think of that? Jon Runyan would be huge for the running game and for Matt Leinart if we get him...

    Please?

I would love for Runyan to be a Jet! I always thought he was a great tackle. And he could be a "hold the fort player" for a few years. Imagine Runyan & Ferguson on our line! Thats alot of beef!

John Runyan is not a great RT. He's good though. A nice upgrade.

He can't be that good if no other team even made an offer. Usually that says something. Jon Runyan = Scott Gragg??

They better not have brought Runyan to Burger King like they did Winfield.

  18. You are absolutely right. He's a great run blocker and a good pass blocker.

This makes me think they are thinking more and more about making a move to get Leinart because as a lefty he will need a really good RT to cover his backside and the Jets must think Runyan is the man.....
