Through four games of the season, we have a much better grasp of what the Jets can and can not do. The schedule becomes tremendously easier at this point and now the Jets will have an opportunity to get really dug in and to start slugging away with what they want to do the rest of the season.

We already know that the defense is going to be nasty and near unbreakable... this is not something that needs to be worried about much. I'd be shocked if any team but maybe the Colts and Patriots are able to do much against us the rest of this season.

On offense, the Jets need to get back to being a running team. With the stakes being as high as they were early in the season, they more and more extended the reigns of what Sanchez can do and more and more relied on him to win for the Jets on offense... this eventually led to what we all knew what would happen... the rookie disaster.

With this behind them, the offense needs to return to being a run-first, pass-second offense. At this point it's well documented that the running game just isn't going. With Miami, Buffalo, and Oakland coming up, the Jets need to use this opportunity to make it work.

No matter what way you cut it, the receiving group is not talented enough to help Sanchez succeed on a high level on a regular basis. It's just not going to happen. Cotchery is awesome, but being that he's the only awesome receiver on the team, Sanchez is mentally staring him down without looking around... this needs to be fixed.

The Jets need to find a way to get Clowney involved in the offense. The 4 yard gain offense that we saw yesterday just won't cut it. The Jets need a deep threat that will extend the field and cause defenses to back off in order to give the running game more room. Being that the Jets likely need to run the ball 40+ times a game, this will be very important for the rest of the way out. It will be better for the Jets to get this fixed now rather than later.

This is probably the best Jets team we've seen in a LONG time... but they still need to cover up their weakness on offense. I think if Schotty and Co. can work on the run game and get them to the dominant level that they should be playing at, then we'll have a legitimate shot at making a deep playoffs run this season. Roethliesberger's rookie season was so successful because they didn't rely on him to win any games... the same method should be applied to Sanchez.

The Jets are going to go 12-4 this season. Let's just hope they develop the team enough to work with that deep into the playoffs. Here's to a great rest of the season.
