Trades rarely happen in the NFL. I know there's a higher salary cap, but I don't see it happening. If the Cardinals are looking to unload Leonard Davis despite their inability to run the football, I read "turd." -X-
did u even watch the nfl this offseason? trades were being made left and right. especially by our own team.
I think it would signal that Buffalo has officially called it quits. Didn't they just give him big money recently? -X-
Leonard Davis would be an interesting pickup to play RT. Clements has barely gotten the job done so far. Nate Clements would be a bossa nova pickup for the Jets. He'd change the rhythm in the defensive backfield and make the Jets very tough to throw against. Replacing Justin Miller with Nate Clements might well be the difference between 8-8 and 10-6 and a possible playoff spot. Two problems though, one is he's going to be very expensive to trade for since he's in the division and two is the Jets wouldn't get anything but a wildcard blowout to show for their trip to the playoffs. Still I'd do it if the price did not involve a first round pick.
i high doubt buffalo would trade him to us and have to see him 2 times a year.. but anything is possible.. tannibaum seems to be quite the trade guy.. if there's a deal to be made he will make it.
Offseason trades are more commonplace, but that was on the strength of cap space created by the new CBA. Most teams have used up that capital. Moreover, it's much easier to get your money's worth when you have a training camp to let your acquisition get accustomed to the schemes. Teams aren't going to give up real value when the trade might only bear fruit way down the line. -X-
On another note, I don't see anyone taking Blaylock off our hands. especially when you consider his carries and YPC this season.
KC might take him to be a special team's gunner. They need somebody to help in that department and he was one of KC's gunners previously.
Buffalo just gave up a 5th for Hargrove.... http://www.theredzone.org/news/showarticle.asp?ArticleID=4476
He's a free agent after the season and thought in Buffablow is they won't have the cash to keep him. Therefore, the speculation is that they may want to get at least something for him now...
I would love to trade for Clements, are you kidding me! Miller gets his walking papers at that point, or becomes a full-time kick returner. I'm glad to see this regime has given up on Blaylock. I was a big Blaylock fan, but he has shown he does not have anything to offer us. (Not that he is not a capable RB, but we don't have the blocking to allow him to get his wheels in motion. It's the same with Barlow.) The rest of the names are "Eh." Nothing to really interest me.
