Well, as the board has been overrun with malware and various bugs, I figured it was time to upgrade both the server and forum software. We've been using vBulletin 3.* for about 10 years now, but it has finally run its course. I've been looking at vBulletin 4.2 (the current version is 5, but it's pure crap), IPB (Invision Power Board) and Xenforo. There are, of course, others out there but these are the three main contenders, IMO. Anyway, I am starting this thread to get some feedback on what forum software you guys prefer and will definitely take it into consideration when making the final decision. Thanks
vBulletin is the only one I'm really all that familiar with. Used to go to a lot of boards but this is basically the only one I go to now. Sorry I couldn't be more help but I'm sure whatever you decide will be good.
I googled the other two and like Xenforo. The ability to view what is in a thread topic without actually loading the page is nice.
Petro Can you provide links to boards that uses these options so people can make an educated pick? I am a total idiot when it comes to software. Thanks in advance.
Sorry you're having the problems with the malware and bugs. I'm sure whatever you choose will be fine. The last board I posted on used IPB, but am not sure what others have used. I googled the three, but couldn't tell enough from what I was able to see. You know what you like best, and probably what we will like best and find the easiest to use. You also know pricing. We trust you and just appreciate the great board.
Honestly, whatever is closest to this particular format. I think a lot of people would rather not have to adjust to a completely new setup

Whatever will give you the least amount of problems we should be able to operate around whatever changes are necessary
Why hasn't this been working with Tapatalk for the last month or so? And I honestly think taking our opinion on looks is ok, but I think you should make a decision based on which is easiest for you to moderate.
