http://thebrownsboard.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/7246085224 I didnt find a "Jets thread" yet -- but reading the other threads this is not a happy bunch. A lot of "Romeo has lost the team" comments; clowns are running the ship, etc. If the team feel anyway like this -- we should step on them early -- the longer you let a bad team hang around -- although yesterday the Lions showed some fight -- so maybe that theory is just cliche.
Of course. Texans won yesterday -- and Im out of the suicide pool. Except for the Raiders -- who won yesterday -- most teams (like most years) can win "oags." Im just commenting that the Browns seem -- based only on their fan site -- like a team in disarray NOT a team with growing pains. If thats the case -- we should hit them early like we did yesterday. I think it'll be close -- they are not that bad -- and basically everyone moves the ball on us.
Browns have only lost to good teams. They beat the teams they were supposed to beat just like us. This will be a VERY competitive game in Cleveland.
This games scares me, I think the Jets will win, but Cleveland plays ugly games. Two losses that came in back to back weeks was when Frye made two absolute terrible picks. Against BAL, they chose to pass the ball on the goal line while ahead.
pretty depressing group over there "Anyone have a gun?" "Life as a Browns fan too hard...." Of coarse if the jets sucked as bad as the browns, i'd be saying the same thing
I pretty much expect every Jets game is going to be close. Even the players have said that they don't expect the Jets to blow teams out (which could be part of the problem.)
I watched the 3rd and 4th quarters yesterday and they were hopeless. McGinest must wonder why he went there now. To be honest Denver had a bad day at the office yesterday and could have racked up more points. We should win this one at a canter , but we will probably make hard work out of it.
i will say that I am not scared of this game...yes, it will be tough, but we should be able to beat the Browns solidly....we are better in most every position on the field (especially QB by a longshot at this point), and look to have better coaching so far....the only thing Cle has going for them is that they will be playing in front of the dog pound which has a history of getting loud
Strange things have always happened to the Jets in Cleveland. I dunno why but they do. I'm worried about this game being IN Cleveland because of Bob Sutton's tendency to reign in the the Defense when we have a big lead and play Herm-style "Scaredy ball". I guess Herm's legacy will be with us until this asswipe is bounced off the staff.
Isnt Frye getting an mri this week? I think I read he might have gotten hurt late. It will be tough because the game is on the road, but they are not a good team.
The Browns are just like every team that has lost to us. They beat themselves. All we have to do is show up and let them lose. If we don't turn the ball over they are almost sure to self destruct. The Buffalo game is a prime example of how to beat teams like this. Buffalo domintaed us and thouroughly outclassed us almost outgaining us two to one. But they still beat themselves with little effort form our team. With Pennington managing the game we should win. The Lions game might be the first game we have actually won this year rather than the other team losing. It was our best win of the year. In our other 3 wins we were horrible. In the lions game we were just plain bad. If we can keep just playing plain bad we should have a very good chance of 6-7 more wins. So far our team has played with almost no heart, effort or emotion. No one has shown up to play othr Pennington, Coles, Cotchery and Rhodes. The defense is lazy, cannot tackle, and won't hustle. But we are playing teams that beat themselves. We don't need to play good to beat the Browns nor does it matter if we play with much effort. We just need to let them lose the game. Let Droughns get his 100-150 yards and just wait for Cleveland to give us the win. Unfortutanately after the Browns we will have 3 weeks without a win. But after the Bears and Pats game we will return to the college division II schedule we have been playing so far this year. Whats most remarkable this season is probably not that we play the two worst divsions in football, nor that our division is so bad but its that everyone on our schedule thats supposed to be bad is bad if not worse. This year is really an oppurtunity for a bad team to sneak into ther playoffs. If a bad teams wins enough games against other bad teams eventually they can become a good team. Look at the 2004 team. That team was horrible but started the season with 5 winnable games and gained confidence. Those wins helped them convince themselves they were good. This year we have the same oppurtunity.
