Just found this. If this could be done it would be amazing but not for any price though. http://texans.scout.com/2/503497.html
it is old and probably unlikely but it does make sense the texans would want d'brick cuz their line is horrible... my question is what would they want in return cuz it would probably be a king's ransom
the author says, "such a move is a definite possibility considering that the Texans problems couldn’t be fixed by the addition of one player." so goes the same for the Jets, which he doesn't mention. i doubt - and really hope - Mangini and Tannenbaum will trade up when we are in very good position to pick up some starters in the first 2-3 rounds. cheers

Here's the thing, and I would bet on my entire life on this... If the Jets get #1 and take Leinart... 5 years later Jets fans will say they should of drafted Bush If the Jets took Bush 5 years later Jets fans will say they should of drafted Leinart And they'll think they're right, never being wrong...oh well.
Bush: 24 reps @ 225 lbs 40.5" verticle 10'8" broad jump 40 times - 4.33 & 4.37 (fastest among RB's so far) Those numbers are insane..We have been complaining about Bush's size but the guy can rep 225 24 times.A freakin 40.5 inch vert. If we did trade to Houtson I would give them a bunch of picks next year rarther then this years. The 2007 class is not impressive at all and a chance to snag a rb who many say is the best rb prospect in years to come out is a chance I might take. I know we have many holes we need to fill in the draft but a chance to grab a guy like this does not come often. I am lost right now as to who the Jets will go for and what they will do. The FO has been so hush hush (which I like) on the flip side if Bradway and Herm were still running the show we would probably have more of an idea of which way we would be going. April 29th can not come any sooner..
I would not be mad if we did it. I mean I realise we really do need all three of those picks but I really would love to see Reggie Bush come to NYC. and he will certainly be a great player. Also, we got the 3rd rounder by compensation and the 4th for Herm plus our normal 3rd and 4th. We'd still have some decent picks on day 1.
And the Jet OL isn't horrible??? Trading up to take Reggie Bush would be one of the all-time draft blunders for this franchise. Stay put, keep our many picks and take the BAP when it is our turn at #4, #29 etc. Without an OL to run behind, and the Jets have no OL, Bush would be very ordinary. Besides, RBs don't win Super Bowls. Look at five recent SB teams - Pittsburgh, New England (3) , Tampa - and name me the star RB on those teams. Even the teams they played, for the most part, did not have star RBs - other than the Rams and Seattle last year. Philadelphia, Carolina, and Oakland did not have big time RBs either. So 8 of the past 10 SB teams got there with pedestrian backs or multiple backs and not a star RB in sight. All of those teams had very good OLs and/or DLs however. That's what the Jets should concentrate on - OL and DL and not some flashy skill player who won't have holes to run through.
I agree, we are in EXCELLENT position to just stay put and draft best player, keeping in mind those "best players" on day 1 can all contribute effectively as part of the initial core group of rookies for the rebuild. I would be somewhat unhappy with the FO to say the least if they traded up for any player in this draft.
