If I were the Texans thats the move I would do, but as a Jet, I dont think I would give up Abe to move up a few. The prospect of Leinart or Bush sounds interesting, but wed really be hurting our team in the long run.

if the texans have so many needs(which they do)why on earth would they trade the number 1 for an overpriced mal-content DE?heres the answer...they wouldnt...unless of course we gave them our number one as well.....and why on earth would we do that

that sounds so wonderful and a few months back i was the biggest reggie bush fan but we cant do that bc of the cap problems and we really need to stockpile picks to fill needs.. like my other thread has it.. we need a QB, RB, OL.. theres no way we trade abe and our #4 for just 1 position.. considering abe will get us a late 1st rounder, we could just trade down a few slots, get a QB, draft a RB, and then draft to OL.. no way bush is worth 4 players not to mention the fact that he will cost twice as much as the #1 pick..

I wouldn't mind trading Abe and our 1st for the Texans 1st and 3rd.

Abe doesn't want to be here, might as well get something good in return.

You are 100% correct im just telling you what i read.I did not propose it or am i the Jets management. But in all actuality think about it.The New York Jets are in the eye of the NFL.They flopped on their faces last year and would like to make a huge splash. It all sounds possible not far fetched.

That might be a little better a trade, value-wise, for us. Question is, would we take Leinart or Bush? I think its a toss-up, to be honest. To be honest I might be tempted to go with the franchise quarterback...

yeah.. it would be great for the media for REGGIE BUSH to come to the spot light of the big apple but it would totally rape our franchise both in cap and in personnel.. we wouldnt be filling the holes on our team and would be overpaying for 1 position..trust me, i wish reggie would be on our team since i would go out the first day and buy an authentic jersey in he was on the jets just like i got one of LT in powder blue btw (my favorite player)... but we need to start building this franchise or we are gonna be sad fans for a long time...

if we did do that which would be stunning and a big mistake, no doubt we take reggie.. this guy could be the next barry sanders... lienart may turn out to be a solid QB tho im not sold after watching the rose bowl (happy feet, inaccurate, didnt throw a long pass) but u cant pass up a player that has the potential to be ridic..

I would have to take Bush. I couldn't invest $100+ million in 2 quarterbacks.

Cutler and Abraham for either Reggie or Matt?

    I do it.

I don't think Abraham is going to command as much trade value as we think, and if this was on the table, I pull the trigger.

For anyone that's looking for the article:

Conveniently we have the #4 pick in the draft where they can finally get someone to protect Carr. I'm not sold on Bush, but that's because I don't follow college football. But the texans are admitting what every team in the #1 position does, that they're listening.

yeah the texans are in the same if not better situation than us offensively.. they have a young qb and young rb.. 2 things we must draft these next couple of years, but their OL along with our OL is terrible.. they should def trade down..draft d'brickashaw and then draft another OL in the early 2nd..

That's what they should do. They have a very good, young back in Dom Davis and don't need Bush, they badly need O-Line. Also I've heard that there are some doubts that Bush is an every down back (I know they were always there, but at the combine they've become bigger) and D'Brick has impressed. Maybe they've fallen in love with Brick but want to get good value for him.

I'd do Abe and 4 for Bush in a second. We badly need a running back, and Cedric Houston is big enough to be the push-the-pile back if Bush isn't big enough to do that. I don't think we'll be able to get a 1st for Abe, and even if we could, it'd be a low first, where we couldn't get such a good player anyway. But even when trying to trade Shaun Alexander, Edge James, Culpepper, nobody would trade a first for those guys...why would they trade one for Abe? I just don't see it. Bush would be the impact player this offense badly needs and it'd be worth giving up Abe for.

i think too many people are overestimating how much we have to do in the draft-trading down to stockpile picks and stuff. We have to remember that FAs are available too. We can take what we need in the draft (like a QB or RB) and still address the O-Line via free agency.

Trading down would be the best move for them, they have too many holes to fill. Reggie Bush is a great player, but they need the picks.

I would rather just stay put and draft Jay Cutler, but if we moved up to #1 and took Reggie Bush, you won't see me crying...maybe tears of joy?

The texans are an example that a young qb and rb are nothing without a line. We need a line first.
