Did anyone else see that the Texans were seriously looking Mario. Come on like their not taking Bush. I'm sure this is just the same old poker move by the Texans but if they are serious they must want to trade down. Has anyone heard who they might be talking to for a trade down?

SMOKE SCREEN, so they don't have to pay Reggie as much

It would be completely irresponsible to not check out all your options. What if Bush got hit by a bus on april 28th... if they didn't at the very least meet with some of these players, they would be picking based on ESPN rankings.

Reggie would outrun the bus. No bus is taking Reggie out.

    actually, i saw this too.

i'm not sure how much truth this holds. i highly highly doubt they'll just pass on Reggie Bush and take Mario. maybe if they intend to trade down...

to me - if this isn't a smokescreen and they really are considering Mario (at #1 or trading down) - it says a lot about Mario Williams. As a DE, he's in the mix with arguably the most electrifying prospect ever; that counts for something.

which is why i really want us to take Mario at #4 (if he's there). I'm not yet convinced that he won't fit in the 3-4 -- in fact, i'm still awaiting Jetsin2004's explanation of how Mario doesn't fit, but Ellis does.

    cheers

There's roughly a snowball's chance in hell of the Texans not taking Reggie Bush. They're just hoping to put the squeeze on Bush and his agent by coming to contract agreements with other top prospects like Williams and Young.

I think its a negotiating ploy by Houston to get Bush to lower his contract demands. Honestly I think the odds of the Texans taking Mario is at most 1% and I'm probably being generous.

exactly this is a negotiating thing. remember if Willaims falls to 5 its a 10-20 mil difference from being picked #1 so they are using him. But they will wait on Bush, My guess is Bush will be signed by 3 days before the draft..

also they still have to wait for any last minute trades(probably wont happen) so this will end in 2 weeks. dont go crazy yet. Do teams have Mario Williams as their #1 on their draft board YES but iti is doesnt mean he will be a top pick

Bush is coming to the Jets for a "non work out" visit next week. Again, it means nothing.

This is the only post that is true, all the people saying they are trying to lower Bush's salary by bringing Williams in is not true for a second. Come on, do you honestly think that Bush's agent thinks for a second that Texans are drafting anyone else. Bush's salary negotiations have nothing in the world to do with WIlliams coming in, like this guy said..its just to do your job the right way incase of an emergency. STOP guys dont outthink yourself
