There was a ridiculous pass interference call against the jets that put indy on the goal-line. The colts receiver pushed off on the jets corner and they call pass interference on the jet. sorry i can't remember the players
Agreed, but Coles got away with one too when he pushed a Colts defender so eh. It was Justin Miller btw.
About as ridiculous as the penalty that set up the Jets TD the drive earlier. Certainly seemed like a make up call and it's hard to get bent out of shape about it.
No way. If you're gonna call pass interference on the offence, it's gonna have to be a helluva lot more than what Coles did. I don't think he ever gets that call.
Yeah it was a bad call but it happens. When that call happened and they showed a replay somebody bombed like a beer onto the field, get that guy for quarterback. It was a difficult ride home but a great game.
We did get the bad end of a few questionable calls today, but that's just what happens. Just pine away until the day we have robot referees.
Indy gets more than their fair share of calls in their favor. Almost as if the league wants them to win.
I taped the game. I'll look at the interference play and the Harrison catch again if I get time tonight (gotta watch Cold Case and Without a Trace later). If Wayne held out his arm first and the contact was incidental it does not constitute offensive pass interference. Miller was called for an armbar which absolutely does constitute defensive pass interference. The penalty is under 8-2-5 (c) in the rulebook. Extending an arm across the body of a receiver thus restricting his ability to catch a pass, regardless of whether the defender is playing the ball.
I didn't notice any pushing off by Wayne either live or on the replay. But like I noted, I'll watch the tape. If there was contact by Wayne it was deemed incidental by the referees or they flat out missed it. Again, if there was contact by Wayne and it was incidental it does not constitute a penalty.
It was a clear catch. It looked clean when I saw it live. To be sure I watched it again. It was a catch for sure. Harrison got both feet in and had possession of the ball.
Okay, here's the deal. Definite armbar by Miller. This was a definite 8-2-5 (c). After Miller extended his arm across Wayne's body, Wayne put his right hand on Miller's left shoulder. The armbar may have been a tad difficult to see live because of the camera angle. But it definitely occurred. While watching that play live and then on the tv replay I thought it was definitely defensive pass interference. I watched the tape and reviewed the play 4 more times and it is conclusive. Miller committed a penalty.
You cant see anything on the Harrison reception from the angle they showed on TV, and they didnt show a single replay because the Colts were in the hurry-up. It was close, but hard to get bent out of shape about that one, since Im sure there was a ref close enough to see, and we are talking about Marvin Harrison, hes as good as it gets when it comes to that sort of thing.
if miller didnt put that left arm out, the call wouldnt have come out there. it was one of those that could go either way. that didnt kill us, because miller ran the ko back for the td, so we went up right after that td.
