I can believe that CMart would want to continue but would just hate to see it. Enough Curtis , Leave the building walking.
As great as it'd be to see 28 in green and white again, I'd much rather he retire now and end his career healthy and in shape. If he plays next season, the only way he's retiring is if he can't walk anymore. If it gets to that point, it's gone too far
I think Curtis Martin is a good example of the kind of person you'd like to have next to you regardless of what you're trying to do. He's tough and he works hard and he never quits. All of that said I have this sinking feeling that he's having trouble letting go at this point even though he's clearly done. Call it Emmitt Smith syndrome.
I wouldn't go that far plus u never know with the way he keep his self in shape and this is not the 70's anymore people comeback from all types of injuries. Plus he will not be shouldering the load like he use to.
If he wants to stay in uniform I'd have no problem with giving him the vet minimum, even if he's not doing anything. He said he doesn't wanna coach but just having him on the sideline helps us a lot. Call me sentimental.
Theres nothing i'd like to see more then him coming back and having even an average season- don't really think we could use him that much though- with Jones and Washington
It would not surprise me if he was holding back that he is hoping for a comeback. The guy has way too much pride to go out on the note that he did. It is hard to believe at this point that he will make a comeback, but it would be great to see him suit up one last time, even if it means playing behind Jones.
I would love to see Curtis play but it is physically impossible that he performs anywhere close to the level that he used to. I really don't want to see the guy in 30 years on 60 Minutes talking about how he should have quit sooner because he can barely walk (Joe Namath-status).
What worries me is that of late we have seen a number of ex players dying or in some kind of extreme illness due to the punishment their bodies took. For me Curtis is a couple of hits away from joining them. How much would that hurt to see one of our all time great players in a wheelchair or worse?
Curtis Martin is an amazing example of a man or athlete in any way. He should hang them up and go out like a proud warrior with his legacy still shinning sterling silver bright. If he came back he would only tarnish it.
would you guys be pissed if he is on the 53 man roster home opener then let him be active just to be seen in uniform 1 more time and the crowd can give him a nice ovation and then retire week 2
No I think you are just not up on what is actually wrong with Curtis's Knee. Bone on bone ,No more cartlidge sliding between the bones. He will not be playing next year for the Jets period.
