Tampa Bay will be the first team to host a Superbowl on their field. Chiefs defeated Bucs 27-24 in Tamp this year. Chiefs are opening as 2.5 point favorites against Bucs in Vegas. EDIT: As great @Dierking always say, FUCK TOM BRADY!
Over / under on the number of fans allowed in the stadium? As of two days ago it was 22,000 (including 7500 NFL-invited vaccinated health care workers), but I would wager that they're now going to try to up that number considerably. You know that the state would be just fine with that.
Vaccinate everybody who enters the stadium. Most of them will get the shot(s) in a few months anyway. Fill the damn place.
I imagine this line will finish very close to a pickem. Vegas should be flooded with Brady plus points over the next week and even out with Chiefs money the week before the SB. Doubt it ever gets to 3 either way which is the magic number for huge swings either way.
I disagree with you on this. I’m pretty surprised that the line is this low. Brady looked atrocious in the 2nd half ... particularly on deep throws. KC secondary played very well today. Also, Mahomes will have two weeks to heal up from whatever effects he’s feeling from the turf toe. I see everyone jumping on KC early so I expect this line to move to KC by 4 or 4.5 by kickoff. If you’re planning on betting on KC, I’d say to grab it now.
You could be right. We'll see how it plays out. I just can't see a lot of money flowing in against Brady enough to move the line over that 3 mark. It's a super hard number to push over and under in the betting market. If it gets over 3 with significant money it'll flow into 4.5 and maybe even up to 5. The Buccaneers will likely add Antonio Brown back while the Chiefs lost Snead and their left tackle Eric Fischer late in that game. It'll be interest to see where the line goes and what the public thinks. This is a very polarizing SB IMO for the betting market. People who have been betting for a long time will likely have a hard time not betting Brady as a dog.
Can't see the Tampa run game being able to keep Mahomes number of possesions lower then average. With 'The GOAT' QB and all those weapons then I think they can hang around in a shootout but KC is just in a tier of their own at the moment and the only team that was by accidental design equipped to cope with them (four front pressure, Impressive run game, multiple receiving weapons and a stout o-line) in the Browns needed Mahomes to be KO'd for a quarter to even get close.
The Chiefs DBs played amazing against the Bills. In the meantime Brady threw 3 picks. Still, TB played good enough to overcome those 3 picks so...? Early on I'd take the Chiefs and give the points.
How many games in the playoffs have the Chiefs bursted out to an early lead in the playoffs the last 2 years? More likely is that Tampa will get the lead early, big question will it be enough to play “Beat the Clock”? I agree with your statement that they would be cooked, I just don’t think it will play out that way, Energy from playing at home will kick start the Bucs early, they will lose the second half but will it be enough for the Chiefs is TBD.
