I think we should extend sanchez and give him more than the 8+ mil guaranteed he has coming in next year. FML SOJ
Definitely need to get rid of Sanchez but getting rid of Rex would be stupid. Even without Revis the defense is in the top 10 and is even the 2nd ranked passing defense. If this team even had slightly below average QB play they would be much better off than they are now.
I'm sorry, but any coach that keeps playing an incompetent QB deserves to go. I like Rex. And wanted him to stay, but tonight was enough for me to see that the entire team needs to start over. Trade everyone. Keep who you must do to salary, but seriously. We need a new start. It's an embarrassment.
i agree with the OP. I don't give who the fuck we bring in. I add rather be 1-15 next year and building towards something then deal with the fucking ridiculousness that the qb and coach bring year in and year out. It's bad enough to lose, but this is just embarrassing. I've been a lifelong fan, but i have gotten to the point where it's hard to support this team, not just because of the football but because of the bull shit antics that go along with it.
Begin with firing Mike T and Sparono! Let go of Tebow, Pace, Thomas and Bart! Free up some cap space and rebuild. This was just TERRIBLE!
Perfect example of stats not telling the true story. If you think the 2012 Jets have a top 10 defense, then you've been lobotomized. I have no idea how the jets can pull out of this. I do think they need to keep Rex, they can't be changing coaches every 2 or 3 years. Contrary to what most people think, they need to draft defensive talent. That is Rex's strength let him make it a top 3 again. Dump Sanchez, he's too f'n stupid and trade for Flynn, Smith or some other current back up making too much money. Free agency, grab an o lineman or 2 and get back to what the jets should be, terrors on D with a top 5 rushing attack.IMHO.
IMO Sanchez and Tanny are absolute MUSTS to go. Rex is on the hot seat as far as I'm concerned and his status needs to be evaluated.
If you're gonna blow it up then one of the main pieces that needs to go is Revis sadly. Unless you feel you can lock him into a 6-7 year deal and be contending by year 2 or 3, there's no reason to keep that big of a cap hit while rebuilding thoroughly.
Honestly, this organization will only take around 2 years to truly contend. They can easily contend next year if Sanchez doesn't start.
this team doesn't need to rebuild. there is enough talent on both sides. just retool, add depth to the o line, get a few olb in the draft. if McElroy plays well then you have a QB that can manage the game, if not then go after Alex Smith or Michael Vick.
This! Everyone has said over and over again how McElroy was just a 'game manager' at Alabama and all he did was hand off to the stable of running backs they had... NOT MY OPINION BY THE WAY, well that is what we need right now. If the ground and pound is what we want to run, use him, at least until he proves to the 'powers that be' he is more then a manager or a good QB class comes out.
how do you figure they can contend next year simply by removing sanchez? we have few offensive weapons, holes on the o line and an aging defense.
1. Off with: Nacho, Pace, Scott, Tone. 2. Trade for picks: Revis 3. Restructure: Harris, Mangold, Ferguson, Cromartie 4. Fire: Sparano, Tannenbaum
