See you on Turkey Day. He has no line to run behind, he will look his age, and the Jets will look good for getting rid of him.
That's a bit surprising. I'd have figured he'd go somewhere where he might win next year, seeing as to how it will be one of his last seasons in the NFL. I guess the Lions were willing to give him a semi-real contract.
There are so many powerful rb's in this draft. He was great for us but certainly running behind our beast ol certainly helped.
Makes absolutely no sense to me. The lions have Maurice Morris who they werent willing to trade to get Cromartie, and they have Kevin Smith who is a young upcoming stud in the league. Thomas Jones isnt going to be seeing crap as far as carries per game with that lineup, plus theyll always be throwing to come from behind. Sounds weird to me.
thomas jones is going to average like 3 yards per carry and not be able to find a job after this season. he needs a great o-line to run.
32 yeard of age, no one is going to give him 6 mil. Lions need leadership, he was the best choice. He's not a 1A or feature back anymore.
Re: T.J to Lions He will get his carries thanks to injury. It's a shame we couldn't reduce his salary this year, but I'm not losing sleep over it. We'll replace him in the draft and simultaneously hedge our Leon bets in 2011, provided he doesn't get signed to an offer sheet this year.
I guess it's not official but Detroit News i'm also guessing D.N is pretty credible. Free-agent running back Thomas Jones will sign with the Lions, according to the Detroit News. \
terrible move for TJ but when he averages 40 yards a game and 2 yards per carry the jets organization will look like they can predict the future.
