This is not about Tebow. Does Sparano have something against running the ball on 3rd and short? There were quite a few occasions where we had short yardage situations and failed to convert, and this isn't the first game. Greene and the running game seemed like the only thing doing a little bit of damage this game, but it was used so sparingly. I don't understand why. We weren't behind multiple scores until late in the game. There were multiple situations where Greene did damage on 1st & 2nd down leading us to a 3rd and 1. At that point you have to trust Greene and let him pick up the first. One time we switched to Tebow and they false started bringing Sanchez back for a 3rd and goal from the 6 instead of the 1. A few other times they did passing plays. As soon as they mentioned Greene being one of the best at converting 3rd and 1's, Sparano hasn't even let him attempt it and that was like 2 games ago. We need more ground and pound. Stop pussyfooting on 1-2 yard situations. It has cost us multiple touchdowns.
3rd and 1 Hilliard up the gut for -1, 4th and 2 S Greene up the gut ( tried to spin to outside ) for -2.
Did those plays happen before we were behind by 2 TDs? I kinda stopped analyzing shit after that happened. Either way I was talking about running it with Greene. He missed a 4th and 2.. What about the other 3rd and 1s, mainly the goal line ones. A couple games back they called the slant to Schillens rather than trusting Greene. I think we need to put more faith in the guy, especially on the goal line.
These 2 plays were the end of our opening drive. I'm not sure about the rest of them, Those were the 2 that stuck out to me. That and the 3rd and 1 on the goal line, Give it to greene stop with the Sub BS.
Our QB is inconsistent and our RB has no field vision. Add a good defense to the scenario and we score no points...again. We can change this situation by naming new starters. It’s not like either of them are irreplaceable. They both are unreliable and we need to stop trying the same things that don’t work. I dont really blame the OC. The players he is play calling for suck.
Sparano relies on assistants to draw up plays and he takes the credit like why last year he had to hire an outside Co-ordinater?? Would he not be teaching what he knows to someone like rex did with petine(forgot how to spell his name)?? If sparano is so good then why hire an outsider like he did with the fins is what i am saying?
Then why did sparano hire an outsider to run his offense last year?? Why did he not bring up someone he was teaching? Does Norv turner hire an outside OC?? That is what sparano did. I never blame OC or DC's but C'mon tony does not call plays. He was a line coach for tebows(gods)sake.
Sparano had Henning his first season calling plays. Then he hired the guy from the browns his second season to call plays. When did tony call plays??? He waited until the seasons end to fire henning because I believe he could not call plays.
Right and so was henning. But he needed them for there play calling skills. He does not call plays. Or at least not good. 2013>>> Norv turner.
I was screaming at the TV when Tebow came in. I'm like, "Just run it with Greene! For the love of god!!!" Penalties really turn into drive killers for us. A simple run could have saved us. That set us up for disaster, then Sanchez is under heavy pressure and throws too late in an obvious passing scenerio for the defense. They were baiting him and he took it.
The offensive line has demonstrated that they can't get much push even against 4 Dlinemen. On short yardage situation against a short yardage defense ?? The call for Tebow on 3rd and 1 was the right thing to do. Why Keller has suddenly decided to start doing false starts is the question.
For most of the fanbase that point hasn't been reached yet. I think it'll take a 3rd failed OC for majority of Jet fans to point the finger @ Rex for the offensive failures.
If the offense has no rhythm then there is no rhythm to throw off. Mark has been "in rhythm" like 3 times in 55 games.
Sorry, can you point to all the other false start penalties when Tebow has come in ? I'm trying to remember them. Sure, things have screwed up and it's caused us to take inopportune time outs, but I can't remember false start penalties before.
