If Callahan takes over that's the scheme we're going to switch to right? Do we have the personnel to run it successfully?

If Schotty is gone after this season I would rather see Callahan stay at his current position and bring in someone new to run the show. Not a big McDaniels fan but he seems to be the choice of most around here.

As for a WC offense, the personnel is there to make it happen. Would probably need to let Braylon or Cotch go to make room for a quick and shifty slot guy but it could be done with the current group.

Schittenheimer runs his own version of the WCO. There's about 10000 different variations of the WCO.

    I'm down with Callahan.

Woody basically owns Johnson and Johnson, surely they could find a way to bring back Bill Walsh. Make it happen Woody.

Yeah, he's the hot pick, but I don't see that happening and more than that I don't see it working. McDaniels' teams have had trouble running the ball and that in NY in November-December is a recipe for disaster.

I hope your right about it not happening and I agree about it not working.

If people hate Schotty right now they would want McDaniels whole family tarred and feathered next December.

No chance McDaniels is here next year.

Personally id love that move for the simple fact that hes a Belichick disciple and spent many years with New England, so I think having this guy on the coaching staff could give Rex & Co serious insight to beat the Pats for years to come.

But im convinced hes going to be a head coach somewhere nfl or college.

    Trouble running the ball ?

Last year Buckhalter averaged 5.4 YPC, Moreno Averaged 3.8 as a rookie.

And their offensive line doesnt even come close to ours.

This year even while devastated by injuries (their whole team) Moreno is averaging almost 4.3 YPC (which is higher than Greene and matches LT)

Im not gonna pretend im an expert on McDaniels but I dont see where this having trouble running the ball is coming from, except for the weeks this season where they had 3rd string HBs taking carries.

Oh im not suggesting that theyre going to make our offense look like the Patriots. But this guy learned under Belichick for 8 + years, and I believe that knowledge could be incredibly beneficial to Rex and our defense.

My statement was just a general one. Everyone loves Belichick, however that fact remains his success is linked with Brady.

It's very weird how not one of his dicksiple's has had even a shred of success as a head coach.

I think the safest bet is for us to promote Callahan if Schotty leaves to be a HC somewhere. I don't think he will get an offer unless we win the Super Bowl

Why do posters here keep bringing up McDaniels as a potential OC? He wouldnt even consider the NYJ out of respect for Belidouche.

Yeah, not with NE. He did have a good disciple in Cleveland, though. Nick Saban was Belichick's defensive coordinator for four years. Of course he went on to win two national championships on the college level.

I'd like to see the Jets get vertical a bit more...I don't know if that's part of the "WCO" or not, but it's part of the West Coast offenses I've always enjoyed. The Raiders and the Chargers of the 70' & 80's...

Mix in a dash of power run and brown till golden.

Tell me we ain't got the personnel.

I can't believe how much support Josh McDaniels has around here. He was literally run out of town in Denver because he treated his employees like shit and they jumped at the chance to leak damaging info about him to the press. Plus, it's obvious that he is a full believer in Belichick-style corporatism, and that he'll pitch a fit if he doesn't get his way (as evidenced by the Cutler fiasco.) Is that really an element that we want to add to our coaching staff?

Watch Alabamas bowl games and focus on their sideline during punt returns, too.

Oh hes a disaster when given personnel control, but as OC he won't have that. The guy is an offensive mastermind, he basically made Tom Brady, lead the greatest offense in NFL history, and groomed Matt Cassel into a solid starting QB. Imagine what he could do with the weapons on this team. He made a functioning offense with Kyle Orton at QB and ZERO offensive line. Just because he's a sucky head coach doesn't mean he's a bad OC.
