He has been atrocious in Indy, getting surpassed by running backs I have never even heard of before. The trade for him from the browns will go down as one of the worst trades ever.

He has had ball security issues and his desire to play the game has been brought to question. So you ask, " Why the hell bring in this pos rb when we could draft one who potentially could be better / doesn't fit our need for a speed back?"

Well, TRich is only 23 years old, and has very low mileage on the tires. He was the 3rd overall pick in the 2012 draft, so the question of natural talent is hard to disprove. He had good rookie season, being the goal line monster for the browns and adding that little punch to be able to get into the endzone from inches to yards out.

As of now we have Ivory leading in that role, who I am a huge fan of but does have injury concerns. TRich could be an ideal backup to Ivory and take the spot as "FB" on the roster allowing us to get rid of Connor who is pretty much useless.

At worst he is a camp body that we run into the ground while installing our new offense. He should come very cheap as he has no leverage on his side. I think the upside of a 1 year prove it deal could be beneficial to this team. Its the small moves teams make that seem to make the biggest difference in an nfl, this could be one of them.

Give me your thoughts jets fans, should we kick the tires or leave this guy in the garbage pile to be swooped up by some other team?

He doesnt really fit our needs. We already have a RB that cant catch the ball. We need a speedster back there that can take a dumpoff and turn it into 20 yards.

Id rather em kick the tires on Greg Hardy if were gonna take a chance on a guy.

Nope. Fun fact: Trent Richardson has the WORST yds/attempt (3.31) of any player in NFL history with 600 or more carries. Our OLine won't change that.

I would much rather draft a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I like the idea as long as it's a cheap 1 yr deal. Not really much risk and it could pay off. How's his blocking? Power run game? Clearly he's probably not gonna be an effective lead back but maybe he can be good as a blocker or short yardage back.

According to Brian Baldinger we are drafting Gurley at 6 so trich is pointless

I don't see any reason to sign him right now. After the draft if we still need a rb, why not take a flier?

I'd be willing to give him a shot in training camp but I'd treat him like an undrafted rookie. The guy doesn't seem to care IMO.

He'd be a better RB than TRich.

I'd draft a guy like Abdullah. No to Richardson. He sucks.

If nobody else wants him I would bring him in on a vet minimum deal and let him show us what he has in camp..if there is nothing left move on. He was pretty good once and he must be motivated.

We don't need him. Maybe if we were thin at the position I'd agree to kick the tires on him.
