According to NFL.com, he is saying that nobody has shown interest on him as of right now. Should the Jets make an offer as a stop gap veteran presence for our young safeties? I wouldn't mind him for really cheap, would you?
Possibly after the draft for the right price. Considering the expectations for the 2013 Jets I'd rather see a rookie or Josh Bush playing back there.
I got you. As low as our expectations might be though, I wouldn't want to see two young guys back there the whole season, especially if they show that they shouldn't be out there. I'm all for getting the young guys out there but if they show that their not ready put in Charles. I agree though, after the draft would be a good time to show some interest in him. I think that he'd be a great mentor.
Sure why not? He is a solid veteran presence that can hold the position down until Bush or Allen is ready.
As a safety, maybe. Depends on what he wants. If no one is willing to sign him, might be able to snag him for vet minimum which I'd be happy with. He's pretty washed up as a corner though.
the play is to use him at safety. If the Jets go safety in the draft with a high pick, they're still a starter short. Perhaps...
This sums it up for me. Woodson would be a good signing for a contender who needs DB depth, but not for us.
Josh Bush is your new center fielder. At SS, we should being back Abe Elam, who already knows the system.
He would help out with putting the rookies in there place. As in where to line up I mean. I really like him at a affordable price! I think he would rather play for a contender is what he means when he says no one is interested. I am sure he can get a 1 year stop gap contract from a bad team. I would not mind him playing for the jets. Rex likes to use DB's a lot as we all know. Rex would probably switch him to OLB !
Why are some of you saying that his time at CB are over? When I started this thread out I meant it as signing him as a safety, but last time he played corner he had like 7 picks.
Actually. I really liked SS A.Allen coming out out S.Carolina. He was all over the field. Not a big josh bush guy. Didn't see enough tape and last year he was a rook that barely played.
if he's still available after the draft, I would take him. he'll come cheap and will be playing with a chip on his shoulder.
After the draft they should explore this. He's old, but he should come with a fairly good price tag if the market has run dry on him, and he's a solid veteran presence. The safety corps is paper thin right now, so look for the Jets to draft one and go with Bush. However, it would be nice to have a guy back there they could learn from. The team isn't in full rebuild mode, this could be a decent stop gap. Again, if the money is right. Although, I bet the market will pick up for him after the draft.
No way, he just takes up cap space we could use towards signing longterm players. I don't want to see any 1 year deals this year at all. Besides he improves our chances of winning games, we can do that and get Teddy lol.
