We've killed Shotty over the years, and rightfully so. I just got done reading through this funny "Jets vs Dolphins Game Thread" from the dolfan perspective. (Long thread obviously, but funny seeing the ups and down emotional rollercoaster of dolfag fans knowing what plays are coming up next.) http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?t=54326 I gotta say, after I rewatched the game pretending the orange jerseys were the team I was supporting, I would've punched TVs directed at Henning myself. Wildcats, and Draws, double reverses in the most retarded times. You guys know how Shotty "Overthinks", or "Fooling only himself"? I think Henning is Shotty times 2. We don't have it that bad, and especially over the past 2 games, Shotty looks like a genius. BTW, wtf is with this "Feed the wolf" bullshit they do over there? What does a wolf have to do anything with a Dolphin? Are they finally admitting that dolphins are.. kinda gay? (I actually like dolphins as animals)
Henning has done a fine job. Fin fans don't know shit. We know Schotty. He gets cutesy at times. But now he's let Sanchez run the offense and everything is fine.
schotty can drive me crazy sometimes especially those draw plays on 3rd and long but when he gets creative it usually works, and it seems has listened to his critics and let sanchez have more of an impact
I wasn't thinking about it at the time but it looked to me like Henning called an ok game. Henne had the best game of his career and they almost defeated a VASTLY superior team. They're probably overreacting.
Well the numbers tell you that Henning called a great game. Henne had career numbers. I was following that thread and watching the game on PC, and the exact moments the fans were complaining about the calls, it made me scratch my head as well. On lot of the drives fins were moving the chains well, and Henning killed it with wildcats for losses, no gains, short gains.
I can't remember having a problem with Henning when he was our OC, but I was pretty young. He was pretty innovative last year starting the Wildcat bullshit. Coming off a 400+ yard offensive performance, I think they may be overreacting. Henning can be conservative at times, but outside of Mike Martz I can't think of a single OC who isn't.
Henning's greatest innovation is what's become his greatest undoing: the wildcat. He's a good and creative OC. He just crowbars that one play into every drive.
What dolfags don't realize is, that it was the threat of wildcat (and the running game) which allowed Henne to throw - couple that with the absence of the primary playmakers (Revis, Pace) and the hot, humid weather. I wasn't expecting a Jet loss without a reason. Next time on our turf, it won't be anywhere close - mark my words.
When he was here he did a good job and I think hes a good OC. Last year the wildcat burned us several times, so of course he had to toss it in there several times thinking it would light us up. As the tape shows, we not only stopped it, we had more luck with our version. I dont know what Rex told Shotty but we have a complete turn around on offense. Rex needs to get back on the defense cause thats lookin a little messy. Im sure he will get that cleaned up this week.
Henning is NOT a good OC. I am happy w/ Brian and have been since the beginning, my only complaint is he likes those damn trick plays too much.
This..... also let me add that Henning does not put his offense in bad situations, it may be conservative at times but he is no Paul Hacket and his adjustments are spot on to what ever the defense gives him, we blitz he goes Max protect, we rush 4 guy's, he runs the ball, good adjustments from a seasoned OC. They almost won the game, sounds to me like Dolphin fans who don't understand the game of football.
He did an AWFUL job for us, he was the reason we choked. We had a QB coming back after a major injury and we had trdaed away our best WR so what does he do? he has us throw more than 200 more times than run even though we had one of the best RBs in the game and a good OL. Our O looked best when we fell behind early in games and had to use no huddle w/ Vinny calling the plays.
Is the point of the game to accumulate more yards or score more points? They were destroying us passing the ball and he went to the WC too often and it cost them, he also has a good short yardage run game and didn't run on some GL situations that also cost them. Yards are great but when you cannot finish off drives it helps you lose, we scored 4 TDs and 1 FG, they had 2 TDs and 3 FG-s that's why we won the game.
Exactly... you have no issue with whales (excpet the ones you wake up next to after a night of drinking) I think Henning did a giood job of calling the game. Their QB nearly single handidly beat the Jets and yet they complain about Henning. What they should be bitching about is Allen getting abused by Edwards twice and not making a better read on what should have been an INT returned for a TD.
