I think when most fans think of who is in charge of the Jets defense, they definitely think Rex Ryan. I'd bet a lot of casual Jets fans don't even know who Pettine is.

I think the juxtaposition between Schotty and Pettine is totally skewed. And yes, I realize Rex has more influence on the D than the O....but Pettine is calling the signals, not Rex. Go back and watch HARD KNOCKS and tell me Pettine should be getting a pass. Barring that, watch football for more than 10 years and you might learn something.
