Schotty blows. He always has. He is a noodle brained knuckle head. He lacks creativity, consistency and ability to adjust.

First, the blaming of lack of a receiver on the lack of a running game weeks ago is just another sign of excuses for schotty. I am glad we have Braylon, but he is not the cure for the lack of running game.

What do you do when teams stack the box?
    1) Play fakes
    2) Quick slants
    3) Screens
    4) Bombs

Have we seen ANY of this consistently? NO! I can even think of a single quick slant. Probably one of the easier passes for a young qb to throw. Keller, Edwards and Cotch are all big enough to go over the middle. NO excuses. Little Wes Welker runs them all day

We have the one of the best runners in open space in the league. What has schotty done to get him screens? NOTHING! I am not talking about check downs. I am talking about a designed screens. Commit the defense and the screen it out to Leon. I guarantee Leon averages 10+ per carry if dumb Schitt sets these up properly. Run these a few times and watch the defense back off.

How about throwing the ball deep on first down? We have one of the fastest receivers in the game in clowney. Why not put him in the slot and take 4 shots down the field 40+ yards? Probably 50% chance of reception or interference. If it is an INT, who cares? It is like a punt. All you have to do is connect a couple times and watch how fast defenses back off.

Everyone thinks Schitty is so creative? Nonsense. He runs a few gadgets sometimes in the first quarter and then he shoots his wad and you don't see it anymore. He is nearly as predictable as Hackett minus the 3rd and draws.

Give Callahan the reins. Schotty blows. Go let him be a head coach for the Raiders. Jackass.

Really...slants, screens....hell even draws. I'm tellin' ya, Schotty needs to move back to Cali and play his gay little style of Tom Foolery. It's just brutal.

I am EXTREMELY CRITICAL of Shotty and while he makes some of the dumbest decisions you see, yesterday he really was not to blame.

Did he call some dumb shit Yes, but on many of the plays Sanchize and Crew did not execute!

This is why I love my seats uptop because we can see when someone is open, covered, routes or as in the case of Keller, they don't turn around.

Keller was HORRIBLE yesterday. He looked like he didn't want to be out there.
He was jogging through his routes. His attempts to catch the ball were half assed.

Sanchize missed a HANDFUL of wide open options and a few of them were on INT throws.
    That's on him.

That said, we were running the ball incredibly well yesterday but it took Shotty a while to realize it but that was his only real flaw yesterday especially considering the fact that 2 WR's were out.

Did he call a GREAT game yesterday? NO, but it wasn't as bad as we'd seem him call in the past.
Yes, I blame Shotty for a bunch of Shit this season but yesterday was not one of them.

Sorry, but I disagree. We ran over the bill defense like it was swiss cheese. We should have kept running until they stopped us. Also, I did not see ANY planned screens, bombs, or quick slants. Knowing when to run the ball is the OC's fault. We could have punished them on ground, won the game and gave Sanchise a win and something to feel good about to build his confidence. Shotty sucked as usual.

I blame the coaches for not running more.. But I also feel that blaming them for this loss is not 100% correct.. Sanchez and his recievers need to spend some extra time after practice getting on the same page.. The recievers were horrible in their route running and the pass playcalls were horrible considering the weather and the struggles Sanchez was having accuracy-wise.. Some quick slants, drags (with leon in the slot) quick screens to leon or clowney would have been nice for getting Sanchez some confidence.. I feel like the coaches were like: ok we ran successfully; now let's throw. I say when you have a struggling rookie out there you keep the ball on the ground and keep the pass plays conservative and not use the deep middle of the field as much.. Sanchez was staring down recievers deep middle all game and that is a death wish in the NFL, the safety will be all over it 99% of the time (especially when there are no other real threats out there) .. If you had Arizonas recievers, yeah sure throw it deep middle, because more often then not, the safety is double teaming Fitz or Boldin or someone who they know will hurt them.. This is not a team who has the options to throw it up for grabs.. Almost every throw to Edwards was in double coverage, yet they didnt shorten the routes on the other side of the field and make an attempt to get Sanchez going via the short pass.. I feel like Hackett-style play-calling would have been beneficial yesterday.

How is Schottenheimer considered HC quality by so many?

Spot on T. I also thought Keller was terrible. I fully expect him to have a case of flu.
Linked to this, what I find amazing is that we only targeted Keller, Edwards, Jones and Washington in the passing game, no wonder Sanchez was getting picked so often, that and bad reads.

    Receiving REC YDS TD LG
    L. Washington 3 46 0 33
    B. Edwards 3 40 0 22
    T. Jones 2 17 0 10
    D. Keller 2 16 0 11

That is why Isiah is coaching at FIU know. Maybe Schotty should go back to college and coach there, because he basically learned his coaching skills from Spurrier at UF, so that is why his play calling doesn't work in the NFL. Spurrier didn't last long in the NFL and ran back to college.

    PLAYING CAREER

    ■ Schottenheimer was a three-year letterman QB at the University of Florida under Steve Spurrier, serving as backup to Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel during the Gators? 1996 national championship season.

    ■ College statistics: 25-of-38 passing (65.8 percent), 290 yards, two passing TDs, one rushing TD.

    ■ He attended Kansas but then transferred to Florida, where he earned a degree in sports management in 1997.

The Bills we're flooding the middle zones , taking away all the short and underneath stuff - they forced the Jets to throw outside and deeper.

Man, I really hate being reminded of this. I was trying to get his connection with Spurrier out of my conscious memory.

With a 10 point lead at halftime and a rookie QB who looked off in the first half and a running game that is shredding the opponent, who ,by the way, lost their starting QB - you RUN until the other teams stops you, punt the ball if you have to and play defense. The only way the Jets lose that game is turning the ball over. To have Sanchez throwing passes into the wind in the 3rd quarter of that game in that situation against that team was inexcusable. Period. The loss sits squarely on the OC IMO. You protect your rookie QB in a game like that. The Jets supposedly built this team to play winter smash mouth football. Why the Jets got away from that in a game like that is a complete mystery to me.

Cmon , it was only a 10 point lead . The way you put teams away in this league is to step on their throats . If the Jets score any points at all in the 2nd half - they win. Everyone now is 2nd guessing the playcalling because Sanchez screwed up and we lost . But you don't win in this league by trying not to lose - didn't we learn those lessons with Herm and Mangini.

Rex said we'd be smashmouth but also said we'd be agressive on both sides of the ball. If one of those passes goes for a TD and we win by 10 - no one is on here today saying we should have run the ball.

im sorry but too much of the blame is on schotty here. Sanchez looked like hell even when he wasnt turning the ball over. Theres a few things i wouldve done differently but I think the problem is we have a guy who started 16 games in college. Its gonna take a lot of time, was never a fan of this draft choice but lets see what happens.

I agree that Schotty did a poor job but really when you go back and look at the game from the mid 2d q on what you really see is lots of mental errors by the players - dumb penalties - holdings false starts etc that put the jets in some tough positions. That said some of the pass calls were lame brained as well. But really this team just failed to execute like a professional football team should when it has the lead and is at home.

I put this on the offense - specifically Sanchez and on Schotty and on Ryan. They had the Bills down 13-3 and were unable to put that game away. Lots of stupid penalties indicating poor discipline and shoddy preparation for the game. Failed execution of plays as well. A comedy of errors really.

the one that stands out... 3rd and 3, incomplete pass at buffalo's (40?). So, instead of punting, we go for it on 4th and 3. If that was the plan the whole time, why not run the ball on 3rd and 3, to make it even more manageable, and considering the success of the run game, it's almost insanity not to.

Over 40% of our runs were for 2 yards 1 yard or minus yards on Sunday.
