Our schedule aside from Chicago and NE is about as easy as anyone could hope for. Miami twice, Detroit, Cleveland, Houston, Green Bay, Buffalo, Minny and Oakland. Is it possible we could go 11-5? If so do we get completely spanked in the playoffs because of our easy schedule? On the same token the Pats just have the colts, bears and jags as tough opponents in their schedule so does that mean the division is out of reach?
you have to expect some hiccups and losing a game or 2 we should win plus as bad as Miami has played they do have talent and it's a rivalry so anything can happena nd Buf isn't a bad team and another div opponent. There's alot of winnable games but it's too early to start thinking we'll win them all, I want to see this team bounce back from last week's debacle before I start to regain my confidence in them.
I also have us going 11-5 ,If we can establish soem kind of consistant run game then i dont thinks that out of the question at all. curtis proved the run could carriy a team. when we had vinny back there throwing into triple covereages and the run game kept us in alot of games . right now i predict 5-3 at the bye week ! after that we'll see.
While we can/should win all three of our next games, it is very possible that we can lose all three as well. Cleveland is tough especially at home and play ugly games. If we were to sweep our next three and go 5-3 into the buy, some of you guys see us at 11 wins that would mean we would go 6-2 down the stretch. I do not see that happening especially with Road games at Mia and GB that can go either way. A definate loss against CHI and most likely a loss against MIN. I would be real happy with 9 wins and just be close to the wildcard the last few weeks.
Unless the Jets beat chicago or new england....9-7 is the best you can ask for. You cant put those teams down as wins...you put 9 games down as automatic..if the Jets could win 7 of those 9..that would be out of this world. Its the NFL. Dont think those teams arent looking at us and saying "we could win that one". We needed to beat either the Jags or the Colts to have a good chance at the playoffs...and we almost pulled it off.
I agree, we had to win vs. either the COlts or Jags and couldn't pull it off. I'm not worried so much about the playoffs this year as I am in seeing improvement in the defense.
Exactly. Come December 1st, if the math adds up, then I will start to get excited about any playoff chances. A ridiculous goal to start the season that I had was that somehow...that christmas night game against the Dolphins would mean something. That would perhaps be the greatest christmas of all. Great day with the family...kids opening toys...me with a big smile on my face "hey!! great toy!!" great food...but knowing in the back of my head that the true icing on the cake would be a meaningful football game for the Jets that night.
exactly but prepared for the "real fans" to attack you for suggesting the low pick would hurt us in the long run
10 wins at a minimum, we have proven we can beat the "bad" teams. We just have to win one of the "harder" games against Minn, NE, and Chi. Win one of those, we go 11-5, and we're in. The Jets should have no problem reaching the playoffs.
One game i dont think will be as easy as we think is the game vs. CLE. I saw their QB Frye play last week vs. CAR and he's a pretty decent QB. The team is pretty tough and you can credit that to Romeo Crennel who is quietly becoming a better coach.
