I generally don't care much for Peter King, but this is pretty good, plus he's saying good things about our QB in this article, so what the hell. I believe that Mark is 10-3 or something like that in games where he throws 0 or 1 interception. If he becomes more responsible with the ball and with Holmes coming back in week 5, this offence will continue to grow. If Greene gets in the act, look the hell out. Things are looking up.
He's also ran way fewer pass plays than the guys he's being compared to. I'll bet he throws AT LEAST one INT in his next 100 or so passes.
When you look at the numbers per play, Sanchez has still been very impressive. Brees - 5/296 = 1.7% or 1 turnover every 59.2 plays Manning - 4/293 = 1.4% or 1 turnover every 73.3 plays Brady - 10/253 = 4.0% or 1 turnover every 25.3 plays Sanchez - 2/190 = 1.1% or 1 turnover every 95.0 plays What really stands out here is how much more turnover prone Brady is than Brees or Manning.
He's having the same results right now that he had the first three games last season with one important difference, he's finishing more drives for 7 instead of 3. He could easily have 3 or 4 picks right now, just as he could have had last season in the first 3 games, but the picks are all being dropped by the opponents, just like they were last year. The big difference between this year and last is that Sanchez knows what HELL looks like if he just starts winging the ball into traffic and getting picked off left, right and center so he likely won't do that again. The odds on a major meltdown like last year are really low right now.
I agree with most of this. He easily could have thrown 2 easy picks against Miami but only one was a bad decision. The one before the half was a hail mary that would have been harmless if picked off. The one at the end of the game could have been a complete disaster. Right now the Sanchez that we're seeing looks like the one we saw at the beginning and end of last season. Whether we see the one that stunk up the joint in the middle of last season?...Time will tell but I sure hope not.
Wow, more praise from King? Does anyone know how long King and Belly have been split up? They were such a tight couple for so long. It's sad when the pressures of society break up two men who just want to love each other.
His passer rating, for what it's worth, is 16 points higher this year through three games than it was last year, and that's including the awful numbers against Baltimore. He had 4TD/2INT through 3 games a year ago. It remains to be seen if the Baltimore game is in any way representative of his level of performance as the season progresses. Of course he will have turnovers, but hopefully not too often. He hasn't fumbled at all this year, even without turning it over he was putting the ball on the ground a lot last year.
I'm not thinking about protecting the ball. That's what game managers do. I'm looking for him to continue this level of play and garner an MVP award this year. Thats my end goal.
Still can't quote via tapatalk. I agree with him finishing drives. Sanchez did orchestrate a TD drive in the 4th against Miami. As well as coming hot out of the gate against the Pats getting us TD's not FG's. Which is a great sign early on. Even better is he's doing great without Holmes. So as opponents prepare for us and watch film, Holmes will still be a unknown factor. That could end up being a blessing in disguise.

The Sanchize gets killed when he does something wrong and very muted praise when he does well. Once he leads us to 18 and 1 and a Super Bowl they won't be able to have this double standard.
