Training for the 2020 NFL season at UCLA, Jets QB Sam Darnold fired to the back of the end zone into the trusty hands of Giants RB Saquon Barkley. Yes, Saquon Barkley. Probably just working out together. I wouldn’t read into it at all. Sam must be in awe that an RB was allowed to run an actual route.
I was just taking the piss about a trade but yes, it isn't like we don't have a great pass catching back on the team.
Maybe we're going to trade Sam for Dexter Lawrence so they can play together. You can never have enough defensive tackles.
Sam getting comfortable for when saquon signs here with a half a season left in the tank. 2028 is going to be lit
Why not? He likely was working out at the same facility as Bell and figured he can get some work in with an NFL QB. There have been tons of athletes that work out together on opposing teams during the off-season.
It just seemed odd to me, the secretive way things are with playbooks and then the players not allowed to practice at certain times for whatever reason. It was no biggy just seemed odd that is all, that odd that I can't remember any other video from previous years showing it happening.

Sam has been putting in the time in the offseason any way he can get it. In Florida, In California, & with personal trainer Palmer.
This is really exciting paired with the makeover on the offensive line and our new weapons. I have a feeling Darnold makes a big jump this season. If we have one
The pass looks slightly high and behind him. But I like seeing these guys finding ways to work out despite being told to stay apart and stay inside.
That coulda been the first pass Sam ever threw to Shaquan, who may have been a bit faster than Sam anticipated? It was a decent pass, and also why it's important for a QB and WR/RB to get their timing down. If there had been a safety coming over the top, that pass gets broken up.
I was thinking the same thing. He needs to get the ball down and lead the receiver more. Putting it there it's easier for the DB to make a play on the ball or the receiver to drop it.
That was back of the end zone. No deep safety. Biggest danger would be leading receiver into on coming defenders. High and a little behind is the right placement. That’s a perfect ball
I totally disagree. He was running parallel to the back line of the end zone, so a defender could have easily come over his back and knocked the ball down or away. Also, when receivers miss/drop/juggle the ball, it is most often when the ball is high or behind the receiver. Further in this case, the only defender was behind him. He didn't have to worry about leading the receiver into any defender in front of him.
Watch the replay again. The guy who was "defending" Barkley was a step or two behind him running on the same trajectory. The defender wouldn't have run into the goal post unless Barkley did also.
