Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I'm a diehard Saints fan and love talking football. I'm not here to make trouble just figured I could find some good discussions since there is a possibillity that you guys may be trading up for Matt Lienart now. A few of us at saintsreport.com have been checking out the sight to see what you guys are thinking about in the draft. Anyway, looks like you guys have a lot of talent combined with a lot of holes just like the Saints. I hope you guys can turn it around fast because it is never fun to watch your team lose. Good luck this year and I'm sure I will be in some discussions with you guys.

Nice to meet ya welcome to the gang green. What is the overall poll of the Saints fans as far as who they should draft and where they might trade down 2 etc....?

Welcome aboard good first post, You guys seem to have similar holes so it will be interesting to see what happens in the draft, your team by far has the ability to change the way the Jets draft

Yeah Brees was a sweet move. I am very glad they did it because it gives us so many options during the draft. We only have 2 1st day picks and have a lot of holes (C, OG, LT, DT, OLB, CB, MLB) some of those positions we need players desperately and some we just need upgrades. I personally would be willing to trade anywhere in the top 10 or if someone like the Vikes could find the ammo to make the move from 17 I would be happy there. I feel like it is a very deep draft and our positions of need also happen to be the positions with the most depth in the draft.

Most Saint fans want either D'Brick or Hawk and would be happy with Vernon Davis. There is a large group that would have been pleased by going after Matt Lienart in the draft and wanted nothing to do with Brees.

I would love to trade with your Jets for their 2nd and 3rd. Seems like a fair trade since it is only a 10 point difference on the trade value chart.

As far as Aaron Brooks goes, he is one of the more talented QB's in the NFL. However, he was wildly inconsistent from game to game and made too many mistakes. If you guys are considering him you better upgrade the offensive line and he would be a great pickup. When given time he will make your WR's look like gods and make throws that you guys have not seen in years but if the line isn't there he is no better than anyone else you have.

How would you feel about #4, 3rd rounder this year, plus 4th this year, plus third and fifth next year?

Welcome to GG... I highly doubt the jets will trade with the saints because at 1 you know bush is going 1, then you guys have 2 not taking a qb and need picks 3 is going qb, then you have the raiders, cardinals, and i forget what other team that needs a qb bad, they can trade up with you guys and get their qb. Then its us, by the time we pick bush and 2 qbs will be gone, and i think the titans are going young. And whoever trades with you is either going leinart or cutler, we like either so it really doesnt matter. But i also doubt we go qb via draft, so we are fine where we are at.

That would be a fair trade on paper but I would be looking for more picks this year. If it was our best offer then I would still do it instead of reaching for D'Brick.

I hope you are wrong and that Norm Chow would go after Matt Lienart. IMO there is no way that Matt Lienart drops past Tennessee and if he has a good pro day then there is no way he falls past the #2 spot. If he makes all the throws and shows his arm is sufficient for the NFL then somebody will give up the necessary picks to trade with us. Right now the Jets are the most logical.

Why are you guys shopping Abraham? Is it because your trying to get a QB or is your FO looking for a draft pick to move up?

Abe does not want to be here, and has said as much in the papers. As talented as Abe is, since he has been here it has been one episode after another. I think the FO, especially under new management, and most fans have just had enough.

Yes because having 2 QBs on the roster with shoulder injuries is a great idea.

Mangini doesn't like guys that complain, and Abraham is a complainer. He also has some very ridiculous contract demands.... he's a top ten DE, thinks he's the best, and insists on being the highest paid DE in he NFL. He also has no position in the 3-4, and it lookes like taht will be the base defense, with some 4-3 mixed in. Bye-bye.

I actually hope that NO still takes Leinart. Brees sounds like he signed a contract that makes it very painless to cut him next year.... so the Jets could go get him then, if need be. It also appears that the Jets like Cutler over Leinart, so what worries me is Minny or Oakland trading up with NO to take Leinart, and then the Titans take Cutler.... and we have no QB. Young will NOT be a Jet.... they would trade down first.

NO could scare the Jets into trading up, but I doubt that. If that happens, I could see the Jets waiting on Croyle instead.

Welcome aboard, and oh, yeah, we have some trolls that will bust your chops.... ignore them, most of us do!

Welcome aboard by the way. I highly doubt we are trading up. There are just too many holes to fill, and the FO is looking for more picks not less. More than likely the Jets are trading down, or staying at 4. If they get a QB in FA, I expect them to draft Brick.
