heh "CORTLAND, N.Y. - Rex Ryan's mouth is at it again. A day after using an expletive during his news conference to criticize his former team, the New York Jets' brash coach took a swipe at New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick. Ryan said during a radio interview a few months ago that he didn't come to New York "to kiss Bill Belichick's rings." He explained Tuesday what he meant, and might have provided more bulletin board material. "When I said that about Belichick, I'm just letting him know I'm not intimidated by him," Ryan said Tuesday. He added that his team isn't going to beat a Belichick-coached team by tiptoeing around them, and if an opponent needs a coach's comments for motivation, "Hell, we're probably going to kick your (butt)."" http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/32463889/ns/sports/
Or shows your team how to stop being afraid of everyone. Tell 'em Rex. We're coming to kick your ass Tommy Boi & Co.!
While i can see both sides of the story you cant help but love the fact we actually have a coach who says more than.... "its a process"
For those of you who may be too young to remember he sounds exactly like his father did..too a tee. His father was loved by the local fans and hated by everybody else. I don't see any difference here and I think it's great. It's not like we are favored to win anything so who cares if it comes back?
Hey, I've got no problem when you are confident, we certainly could use some of that after the past few seasons. Just don't want to go overboard and make Chad Johnson-like predictions that make people enjoy someone's failure. I sure would be happy to see Belichick walk off the field pissed and not shake anyone's hand.
Whining about Rex's comments means that, while Ryan is not intimidated by the Pats, some Jets fans certainly are. Let him back it up with play on the field. If he sucks and then keeps talking shit, then commence with the whining.
We have been beaten 8 games in a row at our house by the Pats. How much crappier can we look. We gotta change our attitude going into this game or we wil never beat them. I am all for Ryan putting the pressure on him.
F that! Why should we be intimidated by them? We'll beat them or lose to them on the field, not in the paper clippings.
Hated by everyone else? Funny, everyone I talk to thinks the man is awesome. They love the sound clips so long as he isnt talking about their team. So far, my running tally of teams who hate Rex is at 3. Buffalo, NE, and Miami....
After our last two HCs I can't believe there would be a single Jets fan that would be bothered by this. Hmm, would I rather have a HC that believes his team is going to kick the Pats butts or a HC that believes any drive that ends in a punt is a successful one?
Hated by his opponents and their fans would have been clearer. Although I don't know why it was necessary.
Once again nothing here that isn't true.... honestly if the Patriots need any more incentive to beat the Jets other than the fact that it's the Jets then they are in trouble. He did not say "Hey New England we're gonna kick your ass" people will read what they want out of this (most being moronic Red Sox fans who only became Cheats fans when they got good) but yes it's trash talk but he didn't actually say anything that is a shot at the Pats or The Chicken.....
Yeah really. F that. And F the Pats and their cheater HC. Being afraid of those guys as Jet fans is troubling.
He's a fucking coach, who the hell is afraid of a fifty year old coach? We are not talking about Chuck Liddell here, or Brock Lesnar. I just think he is setting himself up to look like a jackass if they do not win.
