ESPN.com Insider is showing that the Jets may be interested in Marvin Harrison, but my ESPN the Magazine subscription ran up and I don't have insider anymore. Can someone post the article?

Hmm, that's interesting...I think he's still got some left in the tank. He could hopefully mentor some of our younger WRs mainly Marcus Henry...I think he can be a good player

Nothing really breaking here...just more speculation.

Hutch is a day late. Didn't we already say we weren't interested in Matt Jones?

His day is done. I really don't see any benefit from having him here. Maybe to help Clowney I guess.

I'm sorry, but I happen to think Harrison would be the perfect WR to get. I'd prefer him over all free agents and rookies. We need another POSSESSION receiver for this offense, especially if they plan on starting Sanchez. It's my opinion, and I'm sure people will disagree with me, but if people are expecting them to stretch the field this year, they're delusional.

Here's the original article from Hutch:

What a bitch. So, it's not possible that we were in fact content to enter the season with Kellen and Ratliff...unless we could do something to move up for Sanchez? I don't see how it's strictly an either/or situation. As we all know, Tannenbaum keeps his ears and eyes open to every possibility. We were very clear that we weren't going to draft a QB if we didn't get Mark. That tells me that we were otherwise content with Ratliff and Clemens. I'm not sure why Hutch would want us to show our hand headed into the draft. Oh, that's right. He doesn't give a shit about the team's success...just his paper's.

Nope. I agree completely. Check the #1 WR thread. There were a few of us who said that we wanted Harrison once we drafted Sanchez.

Nah, his coaches say he is still physically there and hasn't lost a step. He was released because the colts had 2 starters already and harrison's cap number was huge. (around 13-14 million i think)

    Sign him.

I don't think he has much left in the tank or he would have already been signed. But if he does, then fine bring him in. I just doubt it. The last two seasons has been a nightmare for him.

Marvin is the perfect guy to bring in to help Sanchez. He is known as a leader, a good guy who is not a trouble maker. He can teach our young WR's a thing or two as well. Harrison would really be a great pickup for us. He really is the guy we should look to target.

I think that good guy rep is fading fast with the gun charge, and all of us Jets fan should remember he pushed a Jets ball boy down before the '02 Wildcard Game.

I don't think he's a long term plan, but he'd be awesome for our system now.

Well, he WAS known as someone that isn't a trouble maker....until he went all Clint Eastwood at a car wash. Be fair. :)

I wouldn't turn my nose up at such a scenario. He has to still have a little bit left in the tank and is certainly one of the best WR's to ever play the game.

How can you go wrong if it's on the cheap and presents little risk?

Maybe he can be of some benefit. Rice was 39 when he went to Oakland and put up 2 good seasons. Maybe Harrison at 37 can give us a good year or two.

I would be 100% behind signing Harrison. He could EASILY reproduce the production we saw from Coles last season.

Would be a great safety blanket for Sanchez as he gets more comfortable in the offense. Not everyday you can bring in a HOF receiver. Let's hope we get him. It's unfair to judge him on his last 2 seasons given that he barely played last year and was under a cloud of legal problems which seem to be behind him now.

    Sorry, but that's all wrong.

He's not a good guy; he's a thug. He just does an excellent job keeping his lifestyle out of the press.

He's not a leader and he won't teach our young guys shit. He never talked to anybody on the Colts. If he was firmly beloved by his teammates and a true leader, he would have taken some sort of pay cut rather than make no money whatsoever.

I think Marvin could still be a very effective receiver in the right system, but quintessential Mangini guy he is not. (Not that that's a problem anymore, jus sayin).

I think we can do better. I'd like to go into the season with what we've got and pick up a free agent or high draft pick next year.

Id much rather go for Toomer as a veteran receiver option then the others.

If we were only keeping people based on there "Thug Life" status, we'd probably have to cut a few of our stars.

He's 37 years old, why exactly would he want to take a pay cut? Why doesn't Manning take a pay cut? Indy said they'd pay him, so he's entitled to expect it.
