Saw this last night Mainly coach speech. Still a good listen Sent from my IPhone 43 using Tapatalk V.86
Coach speech?? What about when he squatted and said, "Imma teabag the Super Bowl trophy on IG Live just like this. Facts." You call that coach speech? Come on.
Seems odd from what we all watched during the draft. It looked like a draft room in distress, with JD on the phones desperate to trade down. Maybe he thought he'd get McDonald a couple of picks later and was trying to do what we all want him to do - deal and add picks. However, wouldn't he have done that earlier? I don't know. It's a dead horse, and now almost two weeks later I am mostly looking forward to see what Will McDonald can do. Plus - had we taken Broderick, we probably would not have gone for Tippmann with the next pick, and I REALLY like Tippmann.
from the story I heard, they had an issue getting ahold of mcdonald. They hid their interest in him and he didn't even know the jets were interested so when they phone rang with a NJ number and the jets were picking he thought it was a friend pranking him and didn't answer. I guess eventually he did though.
Usually whenever the Jets pick somebody that nobody expected and then half the board starts letting themselves become convinced that it was a master plan and the Jets fooled everybody, it tends to result in a truckload of complete bullshit. Let's hope this is not one of those times.
I'm pretty certain we all collectively wanted Sauce, or at least we were heavily on board overall. Sent from my IPhone 43 using Tapatalk V.86
Sauce was never going to bust out but 4 overall is a rare good spend for a corner. His tackling is still very suspect but at this point who cares.
Agreed. The fact that they didn't pick up the 5th year makes their story even less believable. Edit: I'm alright with them not admitting it though. Why give that arrogant twat in Foxboro the satisfaction?
I heard someone once say “you don’t take a developmental OT at 15 when you want to win this year”…. Why would they admit they wanted Gibbs but not admit to wanting Jones?
I think we still would have taken Tippman. McGovern had one of his better seasons last year and still gave up 5 sacks and a bunch of hurries/pressures/hits. That's not who you want protecting Rodgers up the gut. I think it's quite possible that McGovern's poor level of play had a negative impact on Tomlinson's play as well. In addition, McGovern's contract is a backup contract, not a starter's contract. One more thing, the Jets supposedly liked John Michael Schmitz, having spoken with him 4-5 times in the lead up to the draft. It could have been that they liked him too, or that they were doing their due diligence, but I think it also could have just been a smokescreen so people didn't know that they wanted Tippman.
