(14) New York Jets on Twitter: "Three of the greatest to ever wear the Green & White will be enshrined this fall. You'll be Jets forever, D'Brickashaw, @Revis24 and @nickmangold. https://t.co/DiVGxFNpRi https://t.co/0VC8pFv4Yq" / Twitter
Love it. Three of my favorites that represented a fun and competitive Jets era. When was the last time we all could collectively say that? Congrats to all three, and I can't wait till Revis makes the HOF.
I'd have to think on that... he's close though. Here's my Top 5 off the top of my head- 1- Namath 2- Klecko 3- Gastineau 4- Maynard 5- Mawae
I would say so since he will be in the HOF mostly from his time here and the 2 AFC Championship Games
I was thinking about this earlier today.......when Revis is elected into HOF, will he be first player Jets drafted to make hall since Riggins ?
That's insane, and to think a large majority of the general landscape considers Riggins a Redskin as well.
I think I'd put Revis in the top 5. Best player easily in his position which is consider on of the most difficult to play in his era. His 2009 season alone has to be the amongst the greatest feat ever at CB. Just lockdown everyone.
Looks like Revis played 77 games for the Jets which will make him the player with fewest appearances among those in the Ring of Honor. It appears the only other player with less than a hundred games as a Jet was Matt Snell who had 86. I think a recency bias may be at work here.
To put him in the top five you have to take someone else away. Joe Namath was legendary. Don Maynard was what, a top three WR in AFL history? Mawae was arguably the number one center while he played. Gastineau and Klecko combined for 40 sacks in one season. Everyone else needs to fight it our for spot six.
