Did anyone really believe - even if he does want to let him go, which I don't believe - that he was going to come out and announce it the DAY after the AFCG? Ridiculous.
I'd take Paul Hackett. Strong Running game. Works the flats effectively... Think 2002. Think..If only Chad actually had some arm strength.
Honestly the more time that Schotty and Sanchez are together the better. I dont want to see a new playbook and new scheme right when Mark is really developing nicely and should be hitting his stride. Sanchez needs time to learn and get better and Schotty will have more time with the same offense to improve his own gameplans.
Schotty is the best choice we have. Sanchez can not be learning a new system at a time when he is supposed to take that 3rd yr QB leap.
Shotty could spend the next ten years with Mark and he still will not call a good game. He is awful! The offense has no identity or consistency. Think about it, look at the better offensive teams. They do similiar things every week. Formations change, motions change, but the philosophy and schemes remain the same. In my opinion it looks like Shotty has a ton of good stuff but he has no clue how to gameplan based on what HIS team does best. He just calls plays and hopes for the best. When a team with as much talent as the Jets runs enough plays eventually you make some big gains and pressure the defense. His in game feel is also awful- two running backs have equal number of carries and when the game is on the line you give it to the back that has 1/3 the yardage. WTF is that? Take a good look a the games again - Why does it take untill the second half to find matchups that are favorable. How is it that players such as Edwards, Holmes, Keller, and Greene can disapear for two and three quarters at a time? Simple... he tries to get to cute instead of trusting his players. He is actually worse than his old man. His Father was a great coach who got tight in big games - Brian is just not a good football coach.
If you are that concerned with Sanchez - Hire Calahan. System and language remain the same yet we have a coach that has proven he can utilize talent and get the most out of his personel.
Firing Schotty makes no sense. The playcalling on that 1st and goal from the 3 series was awful, but come on. Who would we replace him with?
were never gonna win shit with him as our OC and sanchez as our QB...one of them needs to go and sure as hell isnt gonna be sanchez. with a competant OC sanchez would be looking like a stud by now, but schitty has held him back from being the QB he has the potential to be
Callahan! They could even Pay Billick a sh1t load of money for 1 year, so he can reclaim his title as Offensive Guru
Either I'm really stoned and my sarcasm detector is broken, or this guy just vouched for Hackass......
