Jets ILB David Harris will be held out of contact work for the next couple of weeks as he recovers from a practice collision with PR Jim Leonhard.
"No sense doing it. We know what David can do," Rex Ryan said. Asked if Harris needed stitches Ryan quipped, "I don't know. We're keeping that from New England." The injury isn't a concern for training camp or the season.

Thought this was funny, I think its great Ryan has or at least shows a hatred for the Patsies already

it was a joke, and a good one.

he gets the rivalry and I think he's trying to change the mindset of everyone when it comes to playing the patriots. The Pats don't take the Jets seriously, and the Jets do seem to expect to lose when the play the Pats.

Ryan is trying a different approach. He told them to go fuck themselves on WFAN this afternoon and is now poking fun at the rivalry. This is what this team needed.

I thought that was more of a dig on Mangini and his ridiculous NSA-quality secrecy code

The quote is a little bit out of context. It is more of a joke about Mangini, like others have mentioned, than a jab at NE. This is more of how the conversation went down yesterday (paraphrasing, of course)

Rex Ryan- David Harris has a few loose teeth and will be kept out of contact drills for the next two weeks. He's getting married soon and his fiancee wants him to look good for his wedding. How many stitches did he need? I'm not telling, we are keeping that from New England

The interview is on http://www.newyorkjets.com/ on the front page. It is a long one and a good one.

Let's hope he does as well at the HC position as he does at stand-up comedy.
