Do you think this is possible? I am pretty sure Cromartie will be back regardless. I have a feeling that Revis will remain in New England but I would love to have these two back. We had no reason letting them go in the first place. The only way i see this happening though is if we cut Harvin. Although I like having Percy here I would much rather have Revis Island back in New York. There are so many solid Wr's in this years draft class we can replace Harvin much cheaper and give Revis an offer he cannot refuse. Do not care what anyone says Revis is money hungry and always will be. He got his ring in NE now its time to cash in. Can you imagine the defensive looks Bowles will be able to do with these two? We would still have the money to add a great pass rusher and OL help... Plus they can be great mentors to our younger DB's

I don't think either one will be back, New England will most likely find a solution to keep Revis, and Cro loves the Jets more than the Jets even like him. NYJ is trying to get young and aggressive at CB and Cro is neither one, he's very athletic but has medical issues and isn't very good without a real force at safety like he had in AZ.

why because you disagree with it? you know you don't have to read it. It's not like the thread title had Revis in it or anything. Oh wait it did

If the Pats don't re-sign Revis then the Jets have to be one of the favorites to sign him, they have the room and need for a player of his skills and ability. It's not like the thread is clamoring for Champ Bailey.

how do you know the Jets are trying to get young at CB? Maccagnan has been here barely a minute. They might just want a veteran presence back there.

The thing about Cromartie is that he stupidly appears to be laying it on pretty thick that he wants to come here. Good. The Jets have leverage now and can offer him a low ball deal. Even though money isn't an issue for this team, if he wants to be here so bad, why not take advantage of that.

It's my assumption, I don't know it and probably shouldn't have made it sound that way, although I think that's the way they should go. Signing Cro isn't going to solve much unless they really address the Safety position. Revis on the other hand would make the Safety problem less of a problem, but for a change the cap isn't the issue, it is the team situation for Revis and the fact that Cro is only going to get worse.

exactly we can get cro very cheap with a 1-2 yr deal. Why should we get younger the last young corner we had that panned out was REVIS! If revis signed a multi-year deal with the jets and cro came back for just a year millner and mcdougle would develop so much and be able to take over for cro. I just think it is a win win. But I think we HAVE to bring cro back for all the more he is going to cost and it wont be a long commitment. I really don't think revis will slip past the pats but if he does we better be ready for him.. imo

Cromartie is under-rated and reasonably priced.

Also, he wants to be here.

Mevis is all about the money and even went traitor by helping the Cheatriots win a SB.

Excluding Revis for a minute and just discussing Cromartie, yes, this team could really use talented young corners to develop but at the same time I am under the belief that its not a good idea to throw these young guys to the wolves.

CB is a position that both takes time to learn at the NFL level and one of those that can be difficult mentally... i.e. a short memory is necessary. Having Cromartie for a couple years would help any young corners they have/may try to acquire. It would take the pressure off them a little in the short term. I don't see why they can't get younger AND grab a Cromartie for a little bit.

Give me Cro, Revis can stay in NE for all I care. I would rather look to upgrade the linebacker corps and Free Safety position.

Cromartie probably comes back if he's looking for reasonable dollars... Revis, I'm not sure the jets want him back.. Take his talent away a second. He's a total nightmare for the front office. If he's making 14 mill a year, another guy gets 14.1..., oh shit, here he goes on his demands, threats to hold out etc... He's an impossible guy to please, he always wants to be paid what the orginization are unwilling to.. He's done great for himself and has made 70 mill.. More than he would have honoring his contracts. So god bless, he clearly isn't a legacy guy, he's about his money. Hard to make that guy a cornerstone of the orginization. I'm guessing he spends his career as a hired assassin and keeps getting paid. I think the jets stay away from him.

Good point... During the combine, deon sanders explained that due to offense changes in the college game, cornerback is the worst coached position. He said, teams need veteran corners to teach theses guys how to play the position, they simply don't know how to on the nfl level. There not pro ready coming out of college anymore

I'm not sure that Cro is the type of veteran presence I'd want to mentor young impressionable minds on the field, he is undisciplined and raw even though he's been in the league for about a decade. I guess if they signed him for a year or two that could be a bandaid but I'd rather have a player like Maxwell who can play man and win without grabbing all day

I don't want anyone that helped the Pats win a Super Bowl on the team next season.

Last offseason I would've been all over having Revis back. Now I wouldn't want him back if he came at 2 mil a year.

Cro I'll take as a number 2. We need Maxwell, Jackson or someone along those lines first and foremost

Cromartie- WANTS TO BE HERE. older vet, can be had for a reasonable price. familiar with coach Bowles. has enough in the tank to start in the short term. can mentor younger CB's or take a backseat to any one of them that improves.

worth it, come on back Cro, heres a 4 mil a year contract and a cookie.

Revis- WANTS 16 MILLION A YEAR. arguably the best in the business, but a pain to deal with pay wise. rolling stone, may not be here long or if he is he might decline with an over grossed price.

not worth it, we can get a younger contributor at a better price for longer, screw the mercenary.

I'd like to see them do both. With Cro I think it would be about transitioning the group to Bolwes' D. Cro has matured as a player and leader, but your point about his playing is a good one...Gimme Cro for one year. Sign another guy going into his prime, and draft a guy maybe later...

It would be more important to get that younger guy FA moving into his prime years tho.

Don't see Darrelle back. The ship has sailed on that...
