Adam Schefter of NFL Network and Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com report that the Redskins and Bears are contemplating a trade that would send the No. 6 overall pick to Chicago for linebacker Lance Briggs and the No. 31 overall pick in the draft.

I feel like that's not fair value.... Briggs I feel like is very much a product of the system, and definitely not worth 25 picks in the 1st round...

This is SUCH a Redskins thing to do. On the surface it sounds pretty ridiculous but I wouldn't be suprised if it happened.

That would be a fucking steal for the Bears. They get rid of a distraction and move to within striking distance of pretty much ANY player they want in this draft. They could go for Levi Brown with that pick to defend Grossman as one of MANY options. What do you guys think they should do if they got pick 6?

I agree this is a complete steal for Chicago. Still, I hope it happens, cuz the Jets play the Skins next year and not the Bears. At 6, I see the Bears taking Okoye or Adams, depending on who is there. Levi Brown would be a reach there, although the Bears could always trade down and really stretch the value of the trade (after Tanginibaum taught them how).

Man, Snyder and Co. are just retarded when it comes to any sort of trade, it seems. That franchise is a mess of overpriced, overrated players, and this wouldn't help the cause, especially since they have the chance to bring in a blue-chipper at #6 and could have their pick of the litter there.

The Redskins dont need another LB. They have Washington, Fletcher-Baker and McIntosh.

washington should trade down...so they can actually pick more than once on draft day, but only getting briggs/#31 is not much of a deal...if they could get more picks i wouldnt rip them too much on the deal

right now briggs would be holding the value of the 16th pick...and i dont think he should/could fetch more than a late first...a lot of extra picks would have to be added

Screw Rex, hes played behind enough pro bowl O-Linemen. He just wont do it for Chicago.

I think all the NFC, or better yet NFL outta fear Chicago if they somehow get Brady Quinn to fall into their laps if they get the 6th pick as thats who they are probably targeting as of the moment.

BTW, I think the Skins should AT LEAST get their own pick back from Chicago...

This would be a completely lopsided trade. The Bears should give up much more for pick # 6.

The Redskins would do well to trade down but the value has to be right.

Seriously speaking, you're 100% correct. I could see the Bears either trading that pick away to get more depth which I dont think they'll door go for a heart breaker of a pick and grab the second available QB if he slips. That would be nuts.

Yes, they definately should. They've got 4 picks in the entire draft i think. They should give the pick up to a team that has a boat load of picks with multiples in each round so they can actually draft a team.

    Not half!!
This is really going to upset the draft nicks now....could the bears even trade up further?
They could grab Peterson and take pretty much their pick of the DEs.

    Question:

Would Rex Grossman be half as sh*tty to the national public if the media didn't say so?

Honestly, the guy wasn't THAT ridiculously bad that after his FIRST FULL SEASON as a starting QB that the Bears absolutely MUST get a new QB. This was a guy who was more inconsistent than he was bad. He still had 7 100+ rating games, those seemed to get discounted as soon as the Super Bowl came around.

Seriously, the only reason he got the crap he got was because Manning is a media darling. The love the guy, and the best way to make everyone else love him is to make his counterpart look disgustingly bad in his shadow. Grossman was questioned before the Super Bowl, but more because he was inconsistent. Come Super Bowl week what was everyone saying? This was the most lopsided QB battle in the Super Bowl ever.

Grossman was inconsistent, like most QBs are in their first full season as the starter. I don't see what the big deal is really.

Fake Edit: Yes, I know Chicago was calling for his head for parts of the season. Its part of the troubles of being an inconsistent, young, former first rounder QB.

And on this deal...it's the usual Redskins...nice dumb move.
