I think we have a decent shot at losing to all of these teams and with Pace gone now I'm nervous. The Texans and Saints will both make the playoffs this year imo.
The Jets will be lucky to win a game before the bye. It looks really bad with a rookie quarterback, a rookie headcoach and losing your best defensive player for four games to begin the season.
There are no guarantees that Sanchez will be the starter. I suspect he won't be right away, but I could very well be wrong. The fact that you think Pace is our best defensive player tells everyone how much you know about the Jets.
He was only the third best defensive player and you don't need a great QB to make the playoffs in the NFL, you need one to get threw the playoffs.
Excuse me? Good but definetly not the best... I didn't know our 4 games were so hard (until I looked at the schedule earlier)... I think we have a shot at winning one or two games but with a new coach (albeit a very good one) a new QB (either a rookie or a mediocre one) and a new defensive phylosophy (which I think will be good but will need some time to be learned) It's not going to be an easy task...
I'd say 1-3 probably, with a shot at 2-2, if we are truly a new team with a new coach, that has more fight in it. Going through our tough schedule with a young team and a rookie QB (or at least an inexperienced one in Clemens) 8-8 would not be a bad season for us, its gonna be hard to expect much better.
Pace is a big loss no doubt but I don't think a player like him is going to be the difference between wins and losses. Its a tough opening 4 games with or without Pace.
The Jets paid $22 million dollars for a guy who is the sixth best player on your defense. They got robbed. This site was in mourning over losing Pace for 4 games until I stated how much you would miss him and now suddenly he has no value. You guy's are comical.
For my money, I would put Pace ahead of Harris, but he is a very solid started for the Jets. They paid a good price for a good free agent player. Your jsut tryign to troll with hwole "we got robbed" thing. A very weak attempt at that. at least FTP trys some new, almost raidejoeish, trolling attempts. Yuor just a typical run of the mill boring troll. As for our record, starting with 4 playoff teams in a row, I'm going to say 1-3. Thats a tough opening strech.
WTF. Learn how to spell. I'm just saying I would be pissed as hell if I were a Jets fan. They signed Calvin Pace to a six year $42 million dollar deal with 22 mil bonus and he is the sixth best player on the defense. That is really sad. Calvin Pace is now out for four games. The double bonus for any fan who dislikes the Jets. I understand why you are taking your anger out on me but you should really direct it toward Tannenbaum and the FO. They are clueless.
Houston I think we'll barely squeeze out. I'm very nervous about it though. They'll all be healthy week one and when that team is healthy they are dangerous. New England I can't see us beating week 2. Maybe later on in the season we'd be ready to take them on. Tennessee I think we win. I just think we know how to beat them and honestly I think losing JS and AH will hurt more than people expect. New Orleans I believe will have too much offensive power. It depends on how well their D is honestly and I fear it will be pretty decent so I think we start off slow and can never out-duel Brees. 2-2
What is it with Dolphin fans and reading comprehension? I haven't seen a single Jets fan on this site say 'he has no value'.
Well the posters here went from he will be sorely missed to no he won't be missed he is our 6th best defensive player. I thought he was over rated and come here and find out that he isn't worth the contract the Jets gave him. I'm sure as hell glad the Dolphins jumped out of the Pace running and let the Jets over pay for him instead. It turns out he is not too highly thought of in Jersey and I guess you will be alright without him. I'll stick to my prediction regardless. The Jets will struggle to win a game before their bye week.
