I have been looking online to see what Lewis's plans are after retirement, and started thinking, maybe he would except a job as LB coach.

It'd be out of the box. I'd be surprised.

Media will still call it a circus.

I agree, but the best MLB ever (arguably) coaching with his mentor in a defense he knows already.

Outside of the box thinking is root of innovative thinking.

I voted no. I'm afraid he'd stab Rex Ryan to death in the parking lot.

He wants to spend more time with his family, being a coach does not achieve that goal. However I would take him if he wanted to coach.

He would make way more money with ESPN and also can do shows as he pleases.....He wants to see his son play football as well so he will not coach! Maybe years later

Are you fuckin kidding me? He's going to ESPN and if he were to coach it would be with Baltimore. He wouldn't come to the Jets to coach in a million years

Theres 0 chance of him being a coach in the near future

The guy wants to spend time with his kids, and remain in the media.

Its an absolute certainty that he ends up doing something in the media whether for ESPN, NFL network, or who knows.

I mean teams "could" maybe bring him in to meet with young guys, maybe do some kind of mini whatever. But as a full time legitimate coach whether position or other, absolute 0% chance

Looking back we should have gone after him instead of Scott

The team needed leadership and still does !

I thing Lewis will be with espn next year

The Ray Lewis adulation baffles me. As does the Tom Brady adulation and the Bill Belichick adulation. There are few players in the NFL that are bigger jerks than that trio.

Maybe/Probably! The thing about competitive players like Ray Lewis, is they are going to suffer from not having that competition. Whether it is this year, or next or 10 years from now, he will coach some day.

17 years is along time ! To do it on such a high level to this day is amazing ! I don't doubt he will coach but he will probably get a big payday from one of the networks , espn or the nfl network.

If I never hear the name Ray Lewis again, it will be too soon.

Oh and I doubt he would "except" any job offer.

I would for a linebackers coach, but I think he said he's gonna be doing an ESPN gig.

great players usually don't make good coaches. there are some exceptions but usually the great ones can't explain how they do it or understand why another player can't do it

oh yea, and he is going to espn
