So guys. What's the letter score?

I gotta go witha B-. I liked our earlier picks. But we dicked around in the 3rd round too much.

B/B+ for me. Loved the 1st 3 picks, will wait and see on the other 2. Unlike some on here, I don't mind drafting for depth, not every pick can be a starter. If that was the case, we would be the worst team in the league by far.

    C.

I act like the schegel pick, but i think we were two conservative in the first round. I liked LenDale with that early second round pick, i think he could be the best RB in this draft. Im perplexed by our last pick aswell. The only thing is this grade could really go up with extra credit, because I if you look at our offensive line with dbrick, mangold and adrain jones thats a pretty solid base. I just hope our defense doesn't detoriate by the time we make an offense, and would have liked to see us draft an offensive skill position (running back or reciever) on the first day.

D at best they reached and took the last 3 players 1-3 rounds early. The new FO either knows something everyone else does not or their age and lack of experience showed itself in a very embarrassing way today.

I liked the first two picks although Mangold probably would have been available at 35. I liked the 1st trade down. But the last 3 picks were horrible. Taking 2 guys who are projected as career back ups and special teamers and we could have taken in the 6th or 7th round was absolutely terrible. Where do I sign the bring back Bradway petition.

D'Brick - would have preferred to trade down but still best pick out of what we had to choose from, and I am damn happy we did not take Leinart

Mangold - Far and away my favourite pick in the draft, he is awesome and one of the guys on my wish list, could not have done better at 29

Clemens - Well I do not know much about hm except that he is very immobile but has upside to one day be a starter, I think we reached and i am not sure why the trade up, but still an okay pick

Shlegel - well this is where I fall of the bandwagon and cannot scramble to get back on with anything that i franticly searched for and read about him, IMO waste of a pick and should have just traded for futures in 2007 over this guy, we have so many holes to fill and I am sure that he was not BPA so I am very confused, If day 2 continues like this we should have then just offered our whole draft besides Mangold for Bush

Smith - Simpson, Bing err no we will take that Smith guy, sounds like a nice name, WTF, we have Coleman, Maddox, Rhodes and Washington who it looks like we did not upgrade over, we could have at least reached for something we needed, like a FB like Bernstien or Vickers, maybe Gilles, how bout a sleeper WR, or pretty much anything but safety

this is starting to scare me and I am pretty angry at this point, it is tough to give the benefit of the doubt with their postional selection let alone who they picked, god I hope I am wrong about the last two

I give it a B-, it was an A for the first three picks, then Schlegel brought it down to about a B+ cause he probably would've lasted..and the safety pick just, yikes, at least Bradway knew we could take special teams safeties in the 6th or 7th round, but not the 3rd. And the options that were available, just think about character issues and you'll see why we didn't take any of the guys you think were better options.

and the Saints wouldn't have passed on Mangold, that's why they traded after for Jeff Faine.

Your poll pwns mine. I thought about doing + and - but said "screw it"

I gave it a C+. Bad final two picks, but those first three raise that letter grade.

    1a - D'Brick - wasted pick, we don't need a LT.
1b - Mangold - average pick, Teague is servicable and we should've traded up to #27 for D. Williams
2 - Clemens - Not sure QB was a big need for us, really should've jump all over Maurice Drew.
3a - Shlegel - Could've taken Norwood, but we passed.
3b - Smith - A safety? Please, we are solid at safety.

I don't know why you said, "You're usually pretty good...", it's basically just my opinion on the whole situation, and as such, I think it was a terrible job considering what was on the table. There's obviously no right or wrong here, and I feel rather strongly about mine.

I love the Ferguson and Mangold picks, both A+'s. Clemons was a solid pick up as was Schlegal, both B's. Eric Smith I give a D. However, you have to weigh the firstround picks more than the later picks. This is how I scored the picks.
    Ferg: 10/10
    Mangold: 9/9
    Clemmons: 7/8
    Schlegal: 5/7
    Smith: 3/7
    = 34/40 = 85%

I think this draft day solidified a foundation for a great team, our OL is set for a while, we got some character-filled Defensive players in Smith and Schlegel, and we got Clemens which was kind of a surprise but also a QB with leadership capability. The key is not that we picked the most talented players in the draft, but we picked the players that will help us get to the top. In Mangini I trust.
