Did you see this stuff on the news? What an ahole. Chiefs receiver and his buddies were flying on some interstate in Dallas, they lost control and crashed into some lady and her kid, then they just walked away like it was nothing
Footage released shows multiple men fleeing the scene after crashing a car believed to be owned by Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice Police say a Corvette & Lamborghini caused a 6-car accident during a street race. New information suggests the men may have fled the scene because they had weapons in the car. Dallas News claims the men were taking “guns and bags from the vehicles” before fleeing. Dallas police reportedly suspect that Rice was the one driving. 2 people were sent to the hospital.
Did it escape anyone that these turds were racing in high end sports cars with a combined value of at least $750K yet they ran away on foot? Regardless of the level of stupid it's sickly funny somehow.
I guess if you have a lot of money behind you leaving the scene of an accident, although extremely serious for the average person, would bring a lot less down on them than illegal weapons charges. The NFL is essentially completely full of shit about their brand. I really think that for the first 3-5 years in the league at risk players should be held to strict counseling as a condition of their contracts. It would protect them from themselves, protect them from other people, and protect everyone else. Unfortunately, players who grew up in broken homes and with food and/or housing insecurity are behind the 8-ball the day they get paid. Bulls in a China shop with $ to burn, this kind of thing plays out with regularity over and over again. They don't have a basic maturity level about anything. ETA: Curtis Martin came from a godawful situation. I don't think it gets much worse than finding your murdered grandmother with a knife sticking out of her chest, but there are always anomalies. That being said, the Curtis Martins who transcend without some type of intervention are few and far between.
they don’t make em like Curtis Martin anymore sadly. I don’t know how the league could institute what you are proposing, calling balls and strikes about “at risk” players and not at risk players seems daunting. But there should be better emphasis on this for sure. Even financially, there’s nothing sadder than when a player blows through his money and ends up retired and poor
I don’t think Rice comes from a broken household whatsoever. https://nflradar.com/rashee-rice-parents/ Seems like his parents were always in his life and inspirational at that. Doesn’t get into what his dad did for a living, but his mom worked at a news company.
“Rice was leasing the Lamborghini Urus (in the accident) from The Classic Lifestyle, said Kyle Coker, an attorney for the Dallas-based exotic car rental company. He said that, contractually, Rice would have been the only person allowed to drive the vehicle, which rents for about $1,750 a day and is worth about $250,000.”
Rice previously issued a statement saying he takes full responsibility for the incident. And yet when the Dallas PD puts out an arrest warrant, he is nowhere to be found. thats def not taking responsibility. I wonder if he thought he could just pre-emptively apologize and not get arrested lol
