As a newcomer to this board, it is quite shocking to me reading some of your thoughts regarding who we should take at number 6 overall. So, in an effort to both gauge everyone's individual thoughts on the top prospects, and to get a sense of who people rate above who else, I ask you one simple question.

Who are your top 6 prospects in this draft?

    In order please.

And as somewhat of an introduction, I will give you mine first:

1- Jameis Winston, QB- Florida State
    2- Leonard Williams, DL- USC
    --HUGE DROPOFF---
    3- Amari Cooper, WR- Alabama
4- Dante Fowler Jr., DE/OLB- Florida
    5- Randy Gregory, DE/OLB- Nebraska
6- Kevin White, WR- West Virginia

And for an added bonus, the rest of my top 10:

    7- Danny Shelton, DT- Washington
    8- Devante Parker, WR- Louisville
    9- Marcus Mariota, QB- Oregon
    10- Melvin Gordon, RB- Wisconsin

This is in no way the order in which I expect them to be drafted, this is simply what you would call my "big board" so to speak. I am not huge on Shane Ray, as I don't believe he fits the OLB or DE role very well in terms of size and speed. I am not huge on any of the OL in this draft, but I understand that the importance of the position will push at least one into the top 10 of the actual draft (my guess would be Scherff from Iowa). I am pretty high on Gordon compared to most people, and that's simply because I think he will end up being a stud RB in this league for several years.

I consider this draft pretty weak overall in terms of immediate impact talent, to be honest. The WR's are going to be great, possibly even 6-7 guys having very good rookie years. The RB's might have a chance to be the second best positional group in this draft, with CB's and DL in the running as well. This Safety class sucks, this QB class sucks, this LB class is over rated, and the OL class is full of average players. Oh, and the TE class is awful as well.

    For the Jets

    1- Mariota
    2-Winston
    3- White
    4- Cooper
    5-Fowler
    6- Beasley

Putting Beasley at 6 because he was very impressive at combine and has the game tape to back it up. There is a clear top 5 for me and with Williams being pretty much a lock to go top 5 one of them is guaranteed to be available.

With that said, I'd be willing to sell the farm for Mariota if need be.

    Winston
    Mariota
    Cooper
    Fowler
    White
    Gregory

Edit: those are my top 6 options for the jets. Leonard Williams is probably the best player in the class but he will no doubt be a top 3 pick

    Top 6 in value:

    1. Jameis Winston QB
    2. Leonard Williams DT/DE
    3. Fowler DE/OLB
    4. Cooper WR
    5. Vic Beasley DE/OLB
    6. Tie Shane Ray DE/OLB - Kevin White WR

Top 6 projection of who will actually be picked:

    1. Jameis Winston QB
    2. Marcus Mariota QB
    3. Leonard Williams DT/DE
    4. Cooper WR
    5. Vic Beasley DE/OLB
    6. Fowler DE/OLB

Before the combine Gregory would be in the mix but I think he drops due to his weigh in.

Randy Gregory kind of scares me as a prospect. He's going to move from DE to OLB in the NFL and he's going to have very different responsibilities in that role. He's got the knee issues which resurfaced last season. He's going to have to gain some bulk to be able to set the edge in the NFL consistently. That combined with the knee issues is a real factor. He's not a great technical player at DE as it is. He kind of has bust written all over him unless he winds up in the right system with the right players around him.

He is an explosive player who plays with a lot of passion and drive so maybe that's the X factor that gets him over the top.

I agree almost dead on with your assessment.

Melvin Gordon might be a little too high for my taste but I agree completely with your top 6, I agree with your assessment of Shane Ray, where you have Mariota, and your overall feelings on the positions. Thus, I will take your ranking of Melvin Gordon and accept it.

Agreed. I would much rather have Beasley, Fowler of Ray.
