RAIDERS ARE OFFERING MOSS FOR A TWO A league source tells us that the Oakland Raiders are shopping receiver Randy Moss for a second-round pick in the 2007 draft. The source believes that Moss can be had for less than that amount. The problem is that any team that trades for Moss will have to pay him a base salary of $9.75 million in 2007, or otherwise work out a new deal. Moss has been linked to the Packers for much of the offseason. We've consistently heard that Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre is certain that Moss will join the team. Last night, we heard that Green Bay recently has offered a fourth-round pick. So if the Raiders want a two and the Packers have offered a four, this thing likely could get done for a third-rounder.
I said two weeks ago he can be had for a 3rd round pick and I was jumped on for even suggesting it...hehe. I also said a million time we should get him and let Chad keep him in line.
i know he will probably end up going to GB, but Moss is a special talent that just needs discipline Chad is his friend and Mangini is a hardass....and it would be just too tempting to resist as a fan im keeping this is the nfl forum...where it belongs
yea well......most people hate the idea especially old people but both moss/TO will end up in the hall of fame they just need good coaching and discipline from above and around them if we have it i say lets try it...if we dont lets stay away
If you haven't already, see that movie "We are Marshall". At the very end you will see a couple of clips of a farm boy kid that looks like Opie throwing bombs to a tall receiver wearing #88 and running post patterns. Guess who they are..best friends and roommates too.
Do it for a 3rd.......Moss, Cotch, and Coles.......let's be real here, you ain't stopping them consistently

Raiders | Agent says Moss in best shape of life; wants to play for a title Fri, 27 Apr 2007 11:10:49 -0700 Ryan Kibbe, of KSTP.com, reports the agent for Oakland Raiders WR Randy Moss, Tim DiPiero, says the wide receiver has been training hard in the offseason and is in the best shape of his life. "In Florida, where Randy works out, he ran a 4.26, 4.28, and a 4.31 during one of his workouts last week", said DiPiero. "He's in the best shape of his life." Moss is currently at a playing weight of 205 pounds and is completely healthy after suffering ankle, rib, groin and hamstring injuries over the the past few years. "Randy is determined to prove all of them wrong," DiPiero added in regards to critics who have questioned Moss' work ethic. "He wants to play for a title, and win a Super Bowl."
Now does this sound like a letter written by someone who couldn't be turned around? Dear Marshall Fans, I'm writing this letter to announce my decision. I am making myself available for the 1998 NFL draft. But first I want to thank you, the people of Huntington and all of the Marshall fans and students, who have encouraged me and supported me during my two years here. I am proud to have been a part of Marshall's success. It's been great playing for the Herd these past two years. We went undefeated and won a national championship last year and this year we won respect all over the country by jumping to Division 1-A, winning the MAC championship and going to a bowl. Your support has been incredible. Even the away games seemed like home games because of all the green we saw in the stands and the noise that you made. I want to thank the administration, especially Dr. Gilley and Coach Pruett for giving me the opportunity to come to Marshall. Coach Pruett has been more than a coach - he's a friend that has looked out for me and given me good advice. I also want to thank all of my coaches and teammates. Football is a team game and my accomplishments would not have been possible without them. I've made a lot of friends here and I'll miss the guys but I'll be checking them out next year. I think that with the talent we have returning next season, we can win the MAC again. Ever since I was a young boy, I've dreamed of playing in the NFL. Part of my dream is to give back to the one person who's done everything for me - my mom. She's worked hard and raised three kids by herself (and Lord knows I've put her through a lot) and I don't want to risk not being able to take care of her. I've promised my mom I'll stay in school this next semester and earn some more credits toward my degree. Like some other players I've heard about, I hope to chip away the hours I need during the off-seasons and get my degree someday. I am not planning on playing any other college sport right now. I want to work on technique and work on getting stronger and just getting ready for the NFL rookie camp, wherever that will be. Thanks again for all the support and prayers. Please keep praying for me and I'll keep pulling for the Herd. God bless you. Sincerely, Randy G. Moss
Randy Moss for a third is a steal......With the C&C First Down factory, He would put the final touch on the Offense.
Yeah, and now you know we won't do it. He's not a "Mangini guy", yet NY with Chad is probably the only place in the league where he wouldn't cause trouble. His friendship for Chad is too strong. Hell, he missed the team bus after the Oakland game last year just to hang out with Chad after the game. He says to this day that Chad is the best qb he ever played with in his life. But we'll pass...welcome the Tangeniusville
I'm a proponent of getting Moss for a third if possible. It'd be a steal, and I'd be almost 100% confident that he'd stay in line with Chad and Mangini. Sadly, I just really don't see us doing it. I'd honestly like to see Chad stick his neck out for his friend and put his own ass on the line to vouch for Moss.
So, whoever we take with our 3rd round pick will be forever known to me as the guy we got instead of Randy Moss. I really hope he's good.
